The River, Styx
Tartarus' River
The River named, "Styx", Is the ginormous river that runs through Tartarus. This is the more famous of the two rivers in Hades, It is known that Styx is also the river that is navigated by the Boatman, Charon. It is a deep blue, Almost appearing as black or dark grey water, With a little bit of a green hue.
The river has unique properties and is by no means a body of normal water, The River Styx is very dangerous. For one, The river houses several of a special creature, One that latches onto any shade it can get it's hands on. If one of these creatures grabs you, You are almost certainly done for. They latch onto a being and absorb essence from their soul or body if they're still alive.
The River is the main method of transport in Tartarus, Being the fastest way to get around the region. And while the rest of Hades ranges from very to moderately hot, The air near the river is a nice cool breeze.
