General Summary

Ran my wife through her very first DnD adventure, First Blush. Since this adventure (and the sequels) included pre-gen characters - and the plot is written around the backstory of these characters - I gave her the option of using one of these or her sorcerer or druid (created last year), with the understanding that her character's backstory would need to be tweaked to fit the adventure. She opted for using a pre-gen character.   I was surprised she chose the pre-gen cleric to play this, considering she had shown no interest in the cleric class when I introduced her to character creation last year. I I think she picked the cleric because that character is a wood elf.  As expected, she required a bit of "hand-holding", but - all things considered - she did well.   She was (somewhat) surprisingly paranoid during the first act, but with frequent assurances and reminders from me she made it through.  She had some minor issues with combat tactics throughout this episode, which came as no surprise being a first-time player.  We took a break after each act, during which time I explained the "what's & why's" of the act we had just completed.   All in all, the adventure was well written (if a bit railroading) for it's stated premise - to introduce a new player to the game.  We're both looking forward to the next adventure in the trilogy - she wants to learn more about Garren, and I'm curious to see how she handles a less linear plot.
