Enala
Frostwell is more than a companion...she's the only real family I have left. We have a bond that goes to the soul. That's half the reason I made the deal I did, to make sure we'd always be together. That...and to make sure that the hobgoblins can never do to someone else what they did to me.
Backstory
Click to ExpandEnala was raised in a small elven village on the fringes of the Moonwood, so small it did not even have a name. Few from the wider world bothered to travel there, though the elders of the village were friendly with the Harpers and often hosted their agents at need. She was a talented hunter, and between her bow and Frostwell's fangs they never failed to bring enough game for the village. On a particularly lengthy expedition, she returned to see a column of smoke drifting upward from where her village lay. Panicked, she ran back to the village only to find a scene from nightmares. Every man, woman, and child was slaughtered, their limbs hacked and set out to display. A few dead goblins, hobgoblins, and orcs indicated who was responsible. She fell to her knees within the ashes.
She did not know, and had no way of knowing, that her village had become a victim of Ashtar the Clever & his band of mercenaries known as the Red Eyes. The mercenaries were hunting for Harper agents and had set about forcing them to into the open through his typical method of extreme brutality. With her arms around Frostwell, she swore on that day that whoever was responsible would pay. They would regret this day...and so would all the rest.
Physical Appearance
Enala is a lithe Sun Elf, 5'6" tall and 120 lbs. Her shoulder length black hair is worn loose, framing a face bronzed by a lifetime of exposure to the sun and moon. Her demeanor is usually reserved and stoic, though her companion Frostwell, a light furred tundra wolf who is friendly only to Enala, never fails to elicit a smile.
Equipment
Enala's signature equipment is the Bow of the Beastmaster, which was later turned into the Bow of the Infernal Hunter. She wears a glimmering shirt of fine mithral links beneath a forester's outfit of greens & browns. A pair of stout drake hide bracer's with a silvery metal inlay, the Bracers of the Mithral Legion, enclose both arms.
Personality
Enala is generally reserved and quiet, even among her friends. She only truly relaxes when with Frostwell, her closest companion. In combat she prefers to keep her distance, hitting enemies with a methodical barrage of well aimed shots with her longbow.
Goals & Motivations
Prior to the Battle of the Red Eyes, Enala's driving motivation was to visit vengeance upon those that wronged her. Now that she is functionally immortal, her goal of revenge has broadened to every marauding goblinoid in Faerun. This goal is temporarily on hold to face the larger threat of Tharizdun, but it is only a matter of time before her foes begin to fear her as much as she once feared Ashtar.
History
Enala is one of the few surviving members of the Battleborn (see that page for a full history). Following the conclusion of the Battle of the Red Eyes she received the blessings of Tempus, pushing her agility to supernatural levels.
On 17 Tarsakh, 1497, Enala encountered Shylyn the Erinyes at the ruins of the Temple of Elemental Evil. The devil, upon seeing Enala's prowess, offered a simple deal: Immortality, as many lifetimes as needed to destroy the goblinoid threat. All she asked in exchange was her service in the Blood War, once her task was done. Enala accepted. Now, when a foe is slain, a portion of their life force is drained by Enala & Frostwell, rejuvenating the pair and extending their life.

Slaying of Mirdanoth
In late Eleint, 1497 the Battleborn attacked the lair of the Ancient Blue Shadow dragon, Mirdanoth, bringer of death. During the battle in his lair, the killing blow was felled by Enala. Due to her contract with the devils, she absorbed a tremendous amount of life force from the felled dragon. This absorption changed her, her bonded weapon, and her companion Frostwell. The weapon changed from the Bow of the Beastmaster to the Bow of the Infernal Hunter, and Frostwell grew in size & strength, becoming like a dire wolf.
