Lake Nalubaale

An enormous lake in the huge landmass to the south of the Middle Sea and the origin of one of the two major tributaries of the Great River that flows through Khemri. Set in a shallow depression high in the hills of the equatorial jungles, it is regarded as part of the symbolic and actual expression of the union of the goddess of Love and the god of the Sun. The people of Sheba and others believe Lake Tsana was the place where the goddess first set foot on the barren planet and Lake Nalubaale was where the god arrived. They then travelled down what became the lines of the tributaries, arriving at Khartoum where the union that produced all life on Gaia occurred.   The powerful kingdom (whose capital is the city of Jinja) surrounding the lake, however, maintains that Lake Nalubaale is the location of the union, although this may be a political ploy to bolster their authority over the surrounding kingdoms.   There are many settlements around the lake, but the largest is Jinja which straddles the single outflow to the Great River and is the capital of the great mountain-forest kingdom that dominates this part of Libya.
