Grimtol Hold
Built on the ruins of the ancient and magical orcish city whose name is long forgotten. Grimtol Hold sits between two great kingdoms and is the only passage by land. Most trade is transported by sea due to the rugged cave filled mountains to the north and thick forest to the south. Thieves and other disreputable folk have made the surrounding area their home. Only heavily armed caravans dare transverse the terrain. Although life within its walls was dangerous, Grimtol Hold was a very lucrative city. Pirates brought in their goods to be sold to the black market, northern traders frequented the place as a rest stop on their way to the Valian Domain of Tranol, ready to buy exotic scrimshaw ornaments, several taverns trade in ale and other spirits, the drugs and slave trades were rife (although obviously sublimated) and information brokers and prostitutes plied their trade during the night-time.
The City is governed by the Mages of the Tower, but most of the small local issues are handled by the two High Captains.
