Celia Smith
Celia was a lowborn woman who married Chrestan Smith, the farrier and blacksmith in Barrowton. Celia ran the business side of the smithy for her husband. They had one child together, Barrian Smith, who apprenticed in his father's workshop.
In 441KS, in the face of ser Theadwyn Wynch's Celia and Chrestan were among the small fraction of the population of Barrowton who were spared their new liege's noose. However, when Shades disturbed by House Wynch's delving into the barrows under the town began to menace the people of Barrowton, they were amongst those who accepted Lady Ophelia Foxworth-Hayford's invitation to move to Saltreach.
In November of the same year Celia became infected by a powerful parasitic Shade carried out of The Deephaunt by members of the group of Indentured Labourers working on The Challinder Road. She and several other residents of Saltreach managed to stave off the Shade's attacks by building a massive bonfire in the centre of Saltreach Town Square and staring into it. They were cured before the Shade could kill them by Lady Ophelia's intervention, supplying them with tea steeped with Graveblossom.
Celia died in 447KS at the age of fifty-four. Chrestan followed shortly after.
