Cotofeni Republic

The Cotofeni Republic is the closest modern nation in proximity to the Sarpadian Gates.   After the fall of the Sarpadian Empire, Cotofeni was ruled by a succession of warlords until a peace treaty that saw the creation of the Cotofeni Republic where certain land owning individuals were allowed a voice in government.  Seventeen warlords and the areas they controlled signed the Treay of Henelis in 1115 to form the modern Republic.  Each provence sends 2 representatives to the Cotofeni Chamber where all legislative and national policy decisons are made.   A number of former Sarpadian coastal cities and towns vied for supremacy until the city of Zamcon emerged as the centre of power for the republic.

History

The area occupied by Cotofeni was one of the earliest areas controlled by the Sarpadian Empire when they expanded onto the mainland.   The republic was never invaded by a Helegu army, but did find itself fending off Helegu raiding parties and skirmishing forces for the centuries after the establishment of the Khaganate.
