The Body

AKA Two-Face

"There ain't no one with a sexier body."
— Kraline 'Cool hand' Mcgillis after she won the Imperial championship, 717AP
A light and agile blade popular with the younger balters who use it to showcase their extravagant moves. Its lack of defence has meant only a handful of balters have ever won an Imperial championship using this blade and all of them were powerful Earth practitioners who used their Aura infused shields to compensate.   But despite the low success rate, balters that use Two-face are often fan favourites who can make a lucrative career through losing with stylish grace. Interestingly, its curved central point was the inspiration behind the Shocker offering the user an unpredictable shot. People use this blade in exhibitions but will then move onto a more viable blade for serious matches.

Blade features:

  • Interchangeable face system. The blade's surface has been treated to allow it to accept many custom-made grippy textured pads. Each pad can cause a variety of effects like adding more spin, curving the balt or stopping the balt dead with defensive moves.
  • 5 airflow slats for increased swing speed.
  • The central point of the head called 'the bulb' stands pronounced from the blade to allow for random shots, in theory, to confuse your opponent stopping them predicting your attack.
  • The top head section offers a larger sweet spot for more consistent shots while the lower section offers slower more controlled shots.

Goster's opinion:

The idea of using pads for imparting effects on the balt seems a good one in principle but this doesn't work so well in practice. The blade might offer class-leading nimbleness but it's still deficient in both attack and defence. Two-face is a blade for those who prefer to impress with their moves than actually win a balter match.
If you're one of the Blessed that is proficient in Earth Aurae projection of shields then your skill set would pair well with an agile weapon like the Body blade. For all other aspiring balters I don't see a reason to use it. The Paddle offers virtually identical agility and yet provides improved attack potential.

Latest News:

I have managed to source some unique materials from my western supplier and have manufactured a revolutionary face pad offering improved performance and increased durability over the older ones. Based on tests The Body blades equipped with this new face pad offers an attack performance rivalling the paddle but with increased durability.   Currently, I am selling these new versions at a 35% discount. Once I have seen this blade perform in the arena, I will amend my ratings accordingly.   So, what are you waiting for? Come down to my shop at 10 Balter Avenue and get yourself a bargain.
