Deren (Dare-enn)
Home to several large cultures, and ecosystems. A history of bloody conflict between gods and lesser beings have carved into the surface of the lands and its people.
The continent of Deren is contained completely within the northern hemisphere of Huld. It is bordered to to the east by the Ocean of Izan, to the south by Lake Matsaya, to the west by the Emerald Sea and to the north by the Ocean of fortune. Regions found in Deren include, Jangala, The Tressian Plateau, the Blasted Lands, Betrandia, Fallen Home, the Keth Wilds and several mountain ranges such as the Splintered Peaks.
Deren covers an area of about 9,540,000 square miles, or about 26% of the Huld's land area and about 18% of its total surface. Deren is the largest continent by area. However, it is believed that Deren is fourth largest by population after Rinhold, Jeparates, and Pasccia all of which are home to more Huldfolk. Deren's population is estimated at nearly 18 million people in 26 independent states.
Owing to the colonization of the Deren, by the Fa Empire and the Kingdom of Emser most people of Deren speak Emserian Common or Fa Common and their cultures commonly reflect Emserian and Fa traditions. However, in parts of the The Tressian Plateau, Jangala, the Keth Wilds, and the Blasted Lands, there are indigenous populations continuing their cultural traditions and speaking their own languages.
