The Wrong Rapier
The Wrong Rapier is one of the finest establishments in the North Dock ward area of Portsmouth with good reason and squeezed vitality of every other business in town and benefited from their extorted nourishment. The ocean rumbles through the windows and on it's eastern side their is a lovely view of the ocean. It smells of salt from the adjoining ocean and fine seafood that is cooked here for some of the wealthier clientele of Portsmouth. By contrast it is also the den and meeting place of the Shore Wolves and a headquarters for the criminal empire of PAULO GARDAN The Wrong Rapier is also one of the only places one might find nobles and Goblins in the same room. If a goblin moves to Portsmouth and finds employment this is the place where they will probably first take up residence.
Yellow Jackets eat here frequently and officers of the law are given the best of fare to make certain they do not interfere with the business here.
Purpose / Function
A restaurant and Inn that houses those who come from abroad and those shipping out as well as place to stay that are engaged in business for Paulo Gardan particularly many of the Shore Wolves
Alterations
A waterfront cemetery has was erected here where many are buried out back a reminder not to cross the wolves business. Speaking of wolves the basement of the west side of the Wrong Rapier is a den for the Warg's that serve Paulo Gardan and Bennie /Benaga. This is an elite doghouse serving the very best to Gardan's four footed keen nosed servants who patrol the docks and make absolutely certain that every boat that comes in have everything they say.
Architecture
Gingerbread style yet encompassing 3 floors. Bric brac interlacing trim with a cobblestone foundation that stretches up as siding to protect from the waves that wash up its sides. The Eastern sides of the Inn are supported by stilts as the Eastern side is suspended above the water on stone stilts.
Masts of nearby ships loom over its rooftops.
History
the Wrong Rapier was first owned by PAULO GARDAN 's boss Marcosa. It was a much different place in those days. Marcossa kept his thugs out of the premises. Having taken out his former employer Gardan is a little bit more guarded and realizes that anyone who might threaten his reputation he can just threaten back.
From before Gardan was in charge there has always been a tradition of a card game in the back room once a week where Portsmouth's greatest movers and shakers assemble. Some consider it the unofficial Portsmouth Merchant Council meeting.
