The Golden Gauntlet

The Golden Gauntlet is a trading house that often deals with rare antiques and collectables. It sits high on an elevated stone platform above the dancing display of coloured sails that adorn the peddlers market below. The distinctive building is constructed with hard greyish orange clay and has large golden sails that extend from the main two story structure. The smell of many aromatic candles wafts from the interior and often greets its guests before they see inside, the smell is of soft sandle woods and mild cloves. The interior is shrouded with the soft smoke that hangs in the desert air, the walls are adorned with moulded clay display cabinets and many jewellery cases, dazzling gold ropes strings across the ceiling each glinting as they catch the sun. There is a large pressed clay counter at the end of the store and through the haze you can see the proprietor a large Minotaur polishing a golden reliquary.
