Ambassador Gea'Zarandani Abarok
The most skilled negotiator in the Lanarian Empire, Abarok's philosophy in life is to find humor whenever possible. Despite his tendency to rarely take anything very seriously, when trouble between the Lanarian Empire and the Vincaran Federation arises he's the first person Empress Vazali calls.
His lifelong friend and current partner, Zadie, is by far the most important person in his life.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Abarok is a fan of junk food (cheese doodles in particular) and not fond of exercise, and his waistline shows it. He's not obese, but he's definitely not skinny, either.
Apparel & Accessories
In a professional setting, Abarok wears a gray suit. The silliness of the pattern on his tie depends on the context, but if he can get away with a whimsical one, he will.
(One of his favorite ties has brepons on it.)
In his personal life, he enjoys goofy T-shirts, and makes a point of finding the tackiest one at any travel destination he visits.

Abarok is asexual. This complicates his relationship with Zadie at times, as he doubts whether he can truly make her happy without an active sex life, and she insists that he's the only one she wants to spend her life with.

Abarok graduated from Shalanera University.

Abarok was an intern at the embassy during college, and was hired as a diplomat soon after graduation. His promotion to ambassador is a fairly recent development.

Abarok grew up next door to Zadie, and the two are inseparable. They've been together so long they can practically read each other's minds. They never waste an opportunity to poke fun at each other, but are protective of each other when anyone else butts in.

After moving from their hometown of Bernelenn to Shalanera for school, their relationship developed into "more than friends" in every way but physical, due to Abarok's asexuality. She spends most of the time at his apartment instead of her quarters on the military base. They are each other's "plus one" to every event that comes up. They're together so much a little old lady in Abarok's apartment building assumes they are married. Zadie struggles with what to label their relationship, but the simplest way to put it is that they're soul mates.

Abarok is an only child. His parents were doting and supportive, to the point where moving to Shalanera for school was a bit of a relief for him. His father worked with the local government in Bernelenn.

History
Zadie and Abarok have been inseparable their entire lives. They are so in sync they can practically read each other's minds, and they have the same goofy sense of humor. Zadie is very protective of Abarok. Despite being younger, she defended him from bullies all through school. Their relationship isn't easy to label, partly because of Abarok's asexuality. Zadie has tried calling them best friends, roommates, boyfriend/girlfriend, partners, each other's favorite person, and more. Whatever terminology they use, the fact is that they're connected on a very deep level.
