Ald Alamek
Directly east of Seiran Dyrae on the opposite coast is the city of Al Alamek. It stretches from the base of some large cliffs up to the top of them. It is a centre of manufacturing and historically it has shipped supplies covertly to Dost. This tradition and the ability for people to hide in the sea caves has created a niche for smugglers.
The area is well known for its bars and most will have a selection of beers, a few spirits (mainly whiskey and vodka) and a few wines imported from Bast or Dost. Fish and chips are a common meal and also bread. Singing troupes, from the Dost Quarter, backed up by guitarists are common and taverns will often have them.
Has hasty defenses that were assembled in preparation for the War of Wood and Steel. There are several wets of wooden palisades on the northern border and watchtowers set up on the cliffs.
when a new Wretch from the Bast Oligarchy or the Dost Liberation Movement arrives in the city, a member of the Dost Liberation Movement will arrive and direct them to First Port. It offers good food and lodging for the unfortunate soul. On top of that it serves as a headquarters to the Dost Liberation Movement to organise aid to Dost. The ground level is mainly for drinking expats and those wanting to learn more about Dost while the basement, circular around a large pillar of rock, serves for business. The top level comes with some Dost expats to serve, those that want to launch into a song as entertainment and angry freedom fighters as protection. First Port is located between the Fish Markets and the Port area, away from the Dost quarter buty good at picking up strays.
Each section reflect it's occupants:
The public section has regular guard patrols, gates that will trap intruders while guards arrive and clerks to catalogue.
The Bal Nadbaso employ water and fire often in their traps and have less guards.
The Nai Kaesa have large training rooms and fighting men often guard the posts. They also have some underground gambling and fight rings.
The Dost section is more traditional arrow and boulder traps. The guards are more likely to stalk you throughout the area and wait for you to weaken.
The independent section is the furthest back into the cave and will often rely on being impossible to navigate to protect their wares. Hiding is the best policy if you can't afford guards.

Districts
Top of the Cliff
Quarries
The easternmost point is the quarries. They are easier to access because of the cliffs and it makes stone much more common here than in any other Renyan city. They cut stone there, process it nearby and ship it by bear cart to the city. Houses and infrastructure have sprung up along the road leading here - usually rough services targeted at workmen.Ademak - (Beautiful Fire)
Noble quarter and government buildings, most fo this area was burnt down, old noble quarter was closer to the centre. There are 18 Bal Kaeren that live in this section. The city is ruled by the Renyan Unitary by a noble called Rak Hebede however he is well known to be more interested in personal wealth and interacting with the distant court in the capital than managing the city, leaving the gangs to have a large amount of control. About 10%, the wealthy, of the population live in this section.Grain
Fields of grain and potatoes on the north western edge of the city. On the northwest side of town there are many fields of potatoes. Several vegetable markets are around the northern area as the richer class prefer the smell to that of fish. The Slope
Abeke - Old Home
When the nobles moved to the more moodern housing after the fire, they left many nice homes abandoned. These were segmented and turned into places for workers to live. Dueling grounds are also common and are usually controlled by the Nai Kaesa. They also act as slum lords in the area.Nakhai (Hole in the Wall)
An upper class tavern where nobles, officials and the occasional crime lord can find female company for the night. The staff know the purpose of the establishment and are all lower anking nobles that can be trusted with a secret, all are well known and sharing gossip would ruin their rising careers. The establishment is located on the outer edge of the cliff top, one of the main features is a set of rooms hanging out almost over the cliff in a half circle with a set of windows along the outer wall offering privacy and amazing scenery. The enforcers of Nai Kaesa also ensure privacy for the occupants.
Log Road
This area lies to the west of the housing sector and stretches along a long road back to the city. The furthest reaches stop at the forest. bear or dog pulled wagons are common to pull the lumber along these roads to the manufacturing facilities that line the road. There is also the barracks for the area that can house the full 400 footmen that the area provides to the military but the full strength in rarely in the area except for a policing force.Rarler (eight drinks)
At the end of a long day someone coming in from the fishing boats or from logging will come to Rarler in the lumber processing district. The same, slightly aged but professional serving staff will bring you a drink in a decently clean building. Trouble is rare as the loggers are all well muscled and will deal with trouble by moving in a large pack. Entertainment often comes in the form of cards or dice, quite often played in the large courtyard in the centre of the building. Slits and windows lets staff look out to see those wanting a drink.
Dost Quarter
About 5% of the population are People of Dost. The Free Dost Campaign has set up headquarters here. With a larger population of the People of Dost, singing is more common here than in other areas of Al Renya.Fish Markets
The south end has a large range of fish markets with a large cobblestone boulevard running up to it. Large dogs or tamed bears pull carts of fish up the hillside to the market. The refuse is taken around the eastern side of town on a road known as the sewer road to be used to feed the fields.Bottom of the Cliff
Piers, road leading up to city, fish markets run along the road, bears not used hear in case they steal fish. dotted with sea caves. It also has large beaches.Docks
Paths leading to caves Smuggling to Dost has directed the industry of the city. It has lumber production like many Renyan cities but specializes in weapons and small boats - in other parts primarily used for fishing. First Portwhen a new Wretch from the Bast Oligarchy or the Dost Liberation Movement arrives in the city, a member of the Dost Liberation Movement will arrive and direct them to First Port. Slums
Bal Nadbaso have control of this section and congregate around the large water cisterns. They also control the water distribution in other areas but none as strong as in this area. Almost half the population live here.Benler (cold drink)
If you want a cold drink, or to organise a criminal enterprise, Benler in the slums is the place to go. The bar serves a mix of the destitute and criminals, both made and aspiring, with a silent, nameless bartender and two apprentices. For the security conscious Bal Nadbaso keeps a table in the corner and is involved in many dealings in the place. There is also a tunnel leading down to the sea caves for anything that can't be dealt with by a force of armed goons.
Sea Caves
The sea caves twist through the cliffs under Ald Alamek and are a place to have meetings and secure supplies, both in legal means and often for criminal enterprises. The passages spiral and are difficult to navigate while the entire area is damp and often covered in mosses. Several tunnels wind their way to the tunnels above or to small private bays on the far side of the cliffs. The area is separated into five sections: Public, the Bal Nadbaso, the Nai Kaesa, Dost and the independent section. Each section has set up traps and guardians to defend their section as it is often more lawless in the caves outside the public section. Each section reflect it's occupants:
The public section has regular guard patrols, gates that will trap intruders while guards arrive and clerks to catalogue.

Smuggler's Light
This Lighthouse has aided illicit and noble purposes, being the way that supplies are shipped from Ald Kaytan to the Dost Liberation Movement. It is also known for smuggling goods to and from the Bast Oligarchy. It is a squat building with very few crew, "The less eyes, the less bribes," is the local saying.History
The north western side of the city once had a great fire, destroying most of the buildings there. The buildings in that quarter are newer and the upper class has taken over the sector. Fire breaks of wide cobblestone passages have been created to stop similar fires spreading too far. People to this day debate if the fire was due to the largely wooden construction or foul play between criminal elements.
Architecture
Most of the city is built in the typical Renyan style of wooden slanted roofs, however the burnt sections have a more modern twist. the bottom few feet of the walls are stone and in some places the traditional wooden pillars have been made of stone as well. Wide cobblestone roads that act as fire breaks on the northern side and more twisted cobble alleys elsewhere.
