Renyan Unitary
The Renyan Unitary is one of the great powers of Cascia. They are a kingdom located in the middle of Cascia with their rivals the Bast Oligarchy and their sometimes allies the Dost Liberation Movement to the north while to the south are exiles from their land known as First Loss. They are known for their floral garb, nobility and the Bal Kaeren.
Structure
The Renyan Unitary nobles elect two representatives, one representing Ammaken and one representing Alkken. These two representatives will then raise a child, called a Kal representing both groups to rule once the last leader passes away. There is normally several Kals in a line of succession at any one point. There is little racial tension as most people accept they are Renken.
Public Agenda
Most kings will finish their reign and only have achieved keeping the status quo; small growth and low poverty. However one major political movement is voices calling for aiding Dost to become an independent nation.
History
Early history of the kingdom say that travelling people, the Ammaken, helped those that lived in the large forest in the centre of Al Renya, the Alkken, and then they settled together.
Another largely defining moment is the failing of the irrigation system in the southern territories and the War with Bast which both contributed to the Founding of First Loss.

Demography and Population
Territories
The kingdom of Al Renya is mainly comprised of lush meadows and forests. To the south progress is cut off by marshes which force the kingdom of Al Renya into a crescent moon shape around the marsh with the southern points continually growing as swamp is drained. Forest groves run rampant through the land with a large forest, Ald Dennay, sitting between the furthest towns of the east and the center of the land. This forest is kept danger free by constant patrols and lumber production.
Military
There are around 876,000 soldiers with around 60,000 being Bal Kaeren when the rest are militia. The knights are the elite while each city can call a large group of spearmen to aid in conflicts near them but they mainly hold until the knights arrive.
Technological Level
Al Renya has the technology of a medieval kingdom, they lack metal almost completely which has stunted their development. They have been able to replace many things with specially hardened wood.
Traditionally they distrust technology - even claiming their line is separate from the Ascendent. They have long knowledge of woodworking. New technologies must first be approved by the Kal before being circulated to the people - this is a long process though and requires many rounds of debate by advisors.
Agriculture & Industry
Timber is the main livelihood of the nation, ranging from cutting it to transporting it and crafting it. Food is provided by large farms or fishing as well as hunting, usually for deer.
Trade & Transport
There is trade with the The Lost to the south and The First People to the north, even though many of each people would consider the Renyans enemies. The wind currents also makes the Tower of Aux one of the biggest trading ports between Cascade and Aux. Al Renya also supplies the Dost Liberation Movement with resources, mainly unofficially, through Ald Alamek. They mainly import herbs, medical experts/tools, metal and finished goods while woodcrafts and lumber are their main export.
Medicine
The Renyan hospitals aren't as well respected as many of the others, and usually the best healers will go to the others. They mainly deal with illness or logging injuries - often this means an amputation, or healing an accidental amputation. The noble wards are usually better than the public ones but anyone with means will find a way to travel to the best hospital they can.Education
Apprenticeships and tutoring is the main form of education, with common connection being the best way to get an education. Education usually begins young and can continue 10 to 15 years, depending on the thoughts of the parents.
