Vespmar
"Have you ever been in the wilds of Vespmar when the moon rises? The beasts that call and the winds that shriek will make even the most brave man cower." - High Moon Guardian Melthas
The scattered towns and hovels of Vespmar are shrouded in wood and fog that never seems to leave. The light of the sun breaks through the leaves in sickly green hues and the beasts that plague the land are more often deadly than not.
The people of Vespmar are often met with suspicion - Vespmarians are isolationists and do not trust easily. Even within their communities. Betrayal is commonplace, and even families hoard secrets against each other.
Visitors are not kindly looked upon, and because of the difficulty in navigating the dense forest, many guests are offered the service of the guide and then abandoned to the wilderness.
At most, there are barons that watch over the various towns and villages, and while technically there is a count that rules the land, no one has heard from him in years and most assume he died eons ago.
The Vespmarians are not totally lost to the despair and desolation of their lands, however. There are still good people who fight against the corruption of their land, but it is difficult to hold back so much darkness when it is all you can see.
