The The Antiquarian Association travels through Bremen , arriving in Ljuk during the afternoon of April 23, MS 5097. They spend the afternoon shopping at Truit's Medicinals and establishing Chardelyn trade agreements between Durth Solderth and the Red Band Trading House - Ljuk . Just prior to nightfall, they are visited by Linus Tully , Sally Tride , and Cooper Knobberknocker .
Upon hearing about the successful test of The Summer Star Shines , the party and the three magical practitioners are joined by Mishonn . They set out into the night to test the Summer Star again. They travel 3 miles north of Ljuk and activate it, piercing the cloud cover and allowing the moonlight to fall on the snow there for the first time in 3 years. There are tears of celebration, as Cooper Knobberknocker raises a flask to toast Johnathon MacReadus , and Mishonn goes down on her knees and utters a silent prayer to Ishir .
Returning to town, they gather at Northlook Inn and Tavern to celebrate. They are joined by a steady stream of patrons who come to discuss the parting of the clouds, and celebrations continue long into the night. Eventually, they are joined by Duvessa Shane , who asks if the Summer Star can be used again on the next day.
The next day, teh Summer Star is activated again to the joy of the citizens of Ljuk . Duvessa Shane takes this opportunity to publicly thank the The Antiquarian Association and publicly proclaims that Ljuk will no longer take part in the monthly sacrifices to Auril .
