Materia 46: "The Shadow Over Kamuizawa"

General Summary

A lord's meeting between Shinobu, Hidehito, Hanako and Mari reaffirms a tense alliance in matters regarding unrest in the Nishikawa Dynasty. As the party's pleasure boat approaches Kamuizawa, they hear of an odd curse hanging over the town, supposedly in the past; that night, Mari and Hanako seduce Kazuyuki, prompting Fredrika to question Mari about what she will do now that she has ascended to extreme mortal power.
In the morning, the party explores Kamuizawa, meeting an odd wizard named Naevys Erladden who seeks to stop the local curse, her efforts slowed by her own fragmented mind. Upon further discussion, the party hears that she was once banished to Nessus by Utkan Sebasi, and that she commands fearsome chronal magic. Hanako opts to recruit her for her Lord's Council as her Master Sorcerer; together the pary stops the curse the restoring a disturbed elven burial ground. Back aboard the ship, Hanako gets to know Ken Okabe and relaxes with Akari.
