Shinobu Yamato is the de facto leader of the Yamato Dynasty, married matrilineally, and is the Lord of Tokuyama. She sits on the Royal Council of the Shou Empire as the Master of Whispers. She has one son, Masaru.

Politics

Possessing significant political talents, Shinobu acted as a regent to her infirm father in his duties regarding his lordship of Asuka in his later years, eventually receiving the title formally from him on his deathbed. This started a persistent feud with her older brother, Fumihiro Yamato, who saw himself as legal holder of both titles.
Ignorant noblemen often discount Shinobu as a threat due to her sex and inferior position to her brother Fumihiro. However, more astute political players note her tenacity in pursuing her goals and potentially dangerous seductive abilities. After Fumihiro's death, she became the de facto leader of the Yamato Dynasty.
