Akari Anzai is the Empress of the Shou Empire. She is married to Emperor Kazuyuki Anzai, and attended to by lady-in-waiting Konomi Nishikawa.

Reputation

Akari has a generally favorable reputation, although historically she is not known for being particularly sociable with other nobles. She is seen by some as a model Shou noblewoman - well-mannered, well-groomed, and dutiful to her husband Kazuyuki. However, her reputation has been called into question with the revelation of her being a bastard born of incest.
It's rumored Akari fell in love with a commoner when she was a teenager - an escapade that allegedly came to a quick end after Fumihiro Yamato learned of the matter. Akari is known to have a strong liking for Drakeroot.
Despite being raised a Yamato, Akari is widely believed to be a bastard born of incest from the Takeda Dynasty. She is often seen with her pet cat Hime.
