General Summary

Race Against Pirates

  House Dalt | Xurrero
The Dornish fleet one more time showed their skills on Stepstones Waterways. Never before the Dornish fleet could face the Pirates on the stepstones, nowadays with House Dalt and Martell together are unstoppable.   House Martell | Aegon The Conqueror
Prince Aegon fights the pirates alongside his brother having returned from travels abroad, relishing the opportunity for action.

Northern and Ironborn Dispute

House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
The barbarity of the Ironborn knows no bounds! while the Red Keep was burning, the Ironborn set sail an began their spree of slaughter pillage and rape all across the western coast. Their disgusting practice's cost them dearly against the westerlands who rightfully crushed them and brought order to a great deal of the isles. However House Orkwood lived on and kept his ill gotten gains in the neck and barrowlands and began his occupation of the North. For years good men and women have suffered under Ironborn rule but lord Orkwood has shown his greed and cruelty knows no bounds for the Ironborn have taken up arms once again.   As I write this raven, good men and women burn and scream as their homes are burned and their families slaughtered. The armies of Lord Orkwood have crossed the border in force without warning or justification. Clearly the Ironborn are too dangerous to be left alive. Their culture rewards barbarity and slaughter and they honour rapists as we honour knights.   I ask that the queen take action and declare Lord Orkwood an enemy of the realm. I ask all true men of the North to stand with house Stark against our ancestral enemy. For too long we have allowed Ironborn dogs to roam Westeros and I will tolerate their savagery no longer.   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
House Oakheart believes the Ironborn presence in the North is definitely cause for concern, especially for the smallfolk.   House Crowl | Titus Breakwater
The Ironborn scum have reaved ENOUGH! I, Titus Crowl of House Crowl, holder of the Wall and Magnar of Skagos will bring them to heel. I call upon the Houses Flint and Umber to ride with me to Winterfell where we will amass a strong host of true Northern men and decapitate all these reaver scum and adjourn their heads on spikes. My blade, Frost, is thirsty for blood and I will be glad to feed it with Iron-whore blood.   House Orkwood | Inpes
House Stark has been discussing repelling the Ironborn from our rightfully won lands in the North with his bannerman and surrounding lords. When word reached our ears, we determined to strike before he could get his other excuse of an army in place. You say our culture rewards barbarity, but it seems you mistake victory for barbarity. We reward the victor. It's only natural you mistake the two as you have yet to behold victory.   The terms of your surrender is you swearing here before the realm to not wage war against us or invade our lands. You will also surrender certain lands for even considering bringing war to our lands.   Twin Lakes, Southern Wolfswood, and the region to its East should be sufficient.   House Ryswell | Eddy
Ah… I see that Lord Pryor or Lord Cerwyn betrayed the Stark’s private confidences! It’s natural as they are untrustworthy bastards to the extreme, and cowards as well to hide their treachery from the Stark! Truly how far the north has fallen…   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
The constant unrest in the North is truly shocking. Once such a tight knit group of Houses is no more.   House Ryswell | Eddy
It never was united. Pryor and Cerwyn are a cancer which infects all around them. They brought the Ironborn invasion and now apparently keep it!   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
While I appreciate Ser Serwyn’s ardent support of my cause I do not believe he is correct. I freely admit I was looking for support to oust the Ironborn from the North. They do not belong here and they oppress our people.   However, I had not invaded, nor would I have, without the support of the Lords of the North. Lord Orkwood is unwelcome in our lands; he is an occupying force who represses our people and culture. Every Lord of the North, bar one, agreed the Ironborn are a menace on our shores. Every Lord, bar one, remembers the stories passed down generation after generation of longships on the horizon that soon spelled death and destruction for all those unfortunate enough to see them. The Ironborn crimes, past and present, are unforgivable and they have never truly paid for them. I know exactly which Lord told Orkwood of my plans and I am disgusted. It is a dark day that Northerners forgo their people’s honour and history and side with the bastards who have raped our lands for as long as we can remember.   Publicly shaming him by revealing his identity would serve nothing other than to spite him, so for his sake and for the sake of my own honour I will not tell who it was. Only know this, the Lord who told Orkwood I planned to remove him from the North has betrayed everything the North and it's people stand for.   As for your terms, I spit on them, you pirate scum. You will pry my lands out of my cold dead hands. I will fight you with all the strength I possess and not rest until my homeland is free. No Stark shall sit idle in Winterfell while your people occupy an inch of northern soil. I will either live victorious or die in glory.   And may I ask how his invasion is justified? It's true I was asking fellow Northerners if they want the Ironborn gone from our lands. His first instinct upon hearing this is not to tell the Warden of the North, not to tell the Queen, not even to confront me and attempt to talk this through, but instead to invade my lands in the night and slaughter innocent people. We need no further proof than that to see clearly what I have said is true.   Ironborn are warmongers and will not rest until they have pillaged and raped the entire world.   House Bracken | Jamhalo
The North currently serves to remind the realm of what the ambitious do to one another without proper rule of law. I believe it would be wise for the Crown to reassess the situation and name a Lord Paramount who can properly bring peace to the region.   Lord Stark is undeniably too weak to serve the position, and Lord Pryor seems unsuited to the station.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
My weakness is no fault of my own. Remove the Ironborn from the North and the largest source of conflict is gone and lords like Cerwyn myself and Flint can become powerful enough that the peace can be kept. Not to mention Ser Ryswell could also be reinstated.   My only ambition is for my people. I would be happy if all of Lord Orkwood’s occupied northern lands were given to someone other than myself provided they are a man of honour. And I do not require the role of Lord Paramount. I only wish to free my people.   House Flint | Anathelius
I move in support of Lord Stark. The Ironborn are not welcome in the north, much less as rulers. We have no wish to fight and spill bloodshed. But the people of the North are proud. And the ways of the Ironborn have not mixed well with the people of this land. Safe passage is guaranteed to any Iron born wishing to leave the north and any that wish to stay are welcomed. Assuming that they embrace the north.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
My Lord Stark, what do you propose, exactly? You would send them back to their home in the Iron Islands, but much of that has been taken from them as well. Would you have them live alone on four scant isles, at the mercy of others?   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
House Banefort has occupied much of the Iron Islands for the last 2 years.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
They brought about their own downfall with centuries of piracy. In an ideal world, yes I would have them return to their isles and ships. As it is they would still be significantly powerful even with their 'four small islands'. However I am open to compromise.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
Indeed. So I ask you, Lord Stark, how can you call out in fury at occupation of YOUR lands, when theirs, too, are in bondage? Surely if you are concerned about the conditions of northerners in the region, there are better ways than forcing the poor lot undergo a siege. One with the tragic side effect of persuading the land’s present rulers that northerners are a danger and an enemy. You only serve to worsen the plight of your people.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
Well I disagree with the notion that Lord Banefort holding a vast amount of the Iron Isles is comparable to the Ironborn controlling vast amounts of the North. But I'm more interested in how you say there are better ways than enduring them to undergo a siege. I fully agree, to be absolutely clear I have not attacked anyone. I never began a war with Orkwood. I was rallying support from other northern lords to drive him out of the North.   Who said I was against diplomacy? You may be surprised but considering my house was almost annihilated by pointless wars I am in no rush to start another. For some reason Lord Orkwood was told that i was rallying support against him and he took that to mean I was days away from declaring war on him and sacking his lands. I absolutely talked of war but not once did I ever say I was not going to try to talk to him first. I planned to rally support and when I had it, begin talks with Orkwood, perhaps with Pryor as a mediator considering he is warden of the North.   Unfortunately someone decided to ask me about my plans to attack Orkwood under the guise of helping me and then told Orkwood who attacked me.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
Perhaps it is the magister in me, but I see many chances for cooperation, and little utility in senseless blood. It is why I deal with the good folk of the Dothraki instead of marching to miserable war every time I see a horse. And why many of their numbers now serve me happily.   I can understand how the Ironborn systems of labor, and so-called salt wives would be met with displeasure. But I also gather both systems have ramped down with time. With their elimination, there would be little cause for continued conflict. Your people would be safe and at peace.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
It is all well and good to claim this, but villages of Bloodlake East Bank, Ravyne Household, Wolfswood (10), Wolfswood (11), Green Dragon Inn, and Cassel Household are burning. People are dead and you claim the Ironborn have changed. The Ironborn’s unprovoked invasion proves they are unfit to rule in the North. They care nothing for the well being of the people they rule. I have absolutely no reason to trust the Ironborn. Centuries of conflict cannot be rewritten in a matter of years. Centuries of conflict, which if I may add, were almost entirely caused by the Ironborn.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
People are dead because you schemed behind closed doors, my friend. You cannot blame the Ironborn alone; they acted in self preservation, to what you say was manipulated information from a snake in your ranks.   House Swann | PatMagroyn
Though it definitely wasn’t started by him, the Black Swann takes part in the King’s Landing gossip that House Pryor supports House Orkwood‘s presence in the North. The Warden’s silence speaks volumes…   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
Royal Armies in Queens Crown and Flint Encampment are stationed near the Great Wall. I'm sure any possible conflicts can be settled by the commander up there. It should also be stated again that the Warden of the North is not a Northerner. House Pryor, the Penniless Pryor (as the popular song calls him, ironically), is a Valesmen and I'm sure him taking the Lord Paramount from either Stark or Umber does not sit well with the North.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
Let it be known I have contacted Lord Pryor regarding this issue. I am confident he will uphold his duty and respond.   How did I scheme behind closed doors? My largest error seems to be that I didn't. I refused to believe that even if someone did not agree with my methods they would go directly to Orkwood and tell him to attack me. And Orkwood’s response proves he cannot let go of the old ways. He did not go to the Warden, the keeper of the peace in the North, or even to me in the hopes of resolving the issue. He simply marched his troops across the border.   And you could try to argue I did the same but I had every intention of going to Orkwood to negotiate and then to Pryor if that did not work out before declaring any war.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
You rallied banners with the stated goal of some form of action against Orkwood. This was relayed to him as a direct threat. You must acknowledge some share of responsibility for what followed. And if they acted off false information, this snake of yours is to blame, not you nor the ironborn. Had you gone directly to lord Orkwood, man to man to talk, there would have been no blood.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
I fully acknowledge that my actions threatened Orkwood’s position in the North directly. That was the point. I had every intention of going man to man when I knew I had the support of the Northern lords. If I had gone to Orkwood without their support then I would be acting out of self interest. I had no opportunity to talk to Orkwood before he attacked me. And you say Orkwood is not to blame but he still invaded me rather than try to sort this out diplomatically. Are you seriously saying he is absolved of all consequences when he started a war based on the word of a betrayer? As far as I know he didn't even seek confirmation. He just acted off the word of a single man. I would be inclined to blame both Orkwood and the snake… and myself. But probably primarily the snake then orkwood then me.   House Pryor | Count Darkwood
My silence equates to nothing more than my unbridled attention on the investigation into the matter, without the need to compromise it by speaking out publicly. I have had no communication with the alleged aggressor Lord Orkwood yet but take this accusation seriously and will address it now as time is of the essence.   It is already public knowledge that I am not a proponent for the Ironborn presence in Northern lands, not since they had a hand in the extermination of Houses Flint, Frey and Dustin. Their presence in the North was a result of their close relationship to the exile Ryswell, and their continued occupation is the result of his invitation as well as the crown's ruling on the redistribution of territories. As it stands, inheriting Ryswell's former holdings wasn't enough for Lord Orkwood. His advancement on Southern Wolfswood must be explained or it will be noted as an official act of war.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
When a man is cornered, he strikes out in hopes of preserving himself. You cornered him, lord Stark. He only did what is natural, for any people.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
To immediately launch a full scale invasion of a vastly weaker opponent because he heard I do not like him? It is concerning that you would so easily go to war.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
My friend. Let us not be coy. There is only one reason to gather allies. You sought to threaten him with blood at best, slaughter his people at worst.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
I have never denied I was threatening his position in the North. Still you have to admit that an immediate invasion with no attempt at any sort of other solution is evidence of his Ironborn ways. Clearly he was just looking for an excuse to attack a weaker Lord.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
I certainly do not. In face of an attack by superior forces, one presses any advantage they have. Or one dies. Regardless- this petulant argument has gone on long enough. I have spoken what I felt must be said, proposed better solutions, and they were ignored. I shall not drag myself down to the Westerosi level.   House Orkwood | Inpes
House Stark has stated they do not deny threatening my position in the North. I have accurately discerned a threat to the lands that were distributed to me by the Crown. I have then acted accordingly to nullify this threat. I did not seek any other solution as no other solution is necessarily optimal in preventing future ambitions from the Northern lords. My accuser states this is evidence of my stubborn Ironborn ways??? Naturally, if you had preferred I behaved in a cowardice manner, then you should have considered applying your schemes to another Northern Lord rather than an Ironborn Lord. You have played with a sword and now you receive its edge.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
A single man told you I was planning to attack you so you invade me in full force even though I am many magnitudes weaker than you. Are you seriously standing by your decision to start a full blown war in the north over the word of a snake? It does not matter anyhow. I will not lie down and die. Winter is coming but for who we shall see.   House Orkwood | Inpes
How interesting you steadfastly assert that it was a single man. It is also not a full force invasion. I need not utilize all of my assets to deal with the pathetic scum that you are. Just about everything that comes out of your mouth is false. "One man" and "full scale invasion." You speak of things you know not of.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
Well you deployed approximately 800 troops. No small number. And do you claim more lords told you of my plans? If your cause is so just then why not reveal your noble informants identities?   House Orkwood | Inpes
No small number does not equal a full scale invasion. I will reveal no names of my informants as that would merely give you further opportunity to take revenge on those who have exposed your schemes.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
I am fighting for my very survival, mobilizing all the forces I have. I have no time, resources, or want for petty revenge.   House Orkwood | Inpes
Your survival has been ensured if you follow the terms of surrender previously proposed. You have refused to comply because you plan revenge later.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
A truth I can tragically verify. I discussed multiple mutually beneficial solutions with lord Stark, and he rejected the lot.   House Ryswell | Eddy
Am I missing something? Why is Pentos integrally involved in Westerosi politics? This raises serious concerns.   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
Pentos has always seen themselves as equals to us in the West, it's amusing to be honest.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
Equals? Do not insult me. It was Pentoshi gold, secrets and souls who won the Targaryens back their throne. We have been eager to assist Westeros ever since.   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
Excuse me Prince, I meant not disrespect, just stating what I see as a historical fact... whether I'm correct is not really important.   House Cerwyn | Sir Riskalot
"Eager to assist" he says. Quite an investment both The Iron Bank and Pentos have made in Westeros.   House Ryswell | Eddy
Nothing I say politically should be considered the views of the Iron Bank on any matter. I am simply an employee whose function is to advise on the sensibilities of Westeros in business matters, my public statements are my own, and generally made in reference to my experience in the north.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
Indeed we have. You’re quite welcome.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
The magister Pentos knows nothing. He proposed a completely unfeasible strategy that even if it were possible would involve me betraying everything I stand for. But he also told me never to tell a soul what he had suggested to me and now he publicly berates me for not complying with his advice. I couldn't be bothered to tell anyone what your plan was. If you plan on being so antagonistic towards me then please pay attention to your own continent and leave our struggles to us.   Lord Orkwood you declared an offensive war and immediately asked me for land. If I took your peace now, who's to stop you from doing it again a few years from now or from doing it to another. This is a fight for northern survival.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
That was but one route, my friend. Not the best, perhaps, but the only route to your true aim. My first advice is what it has always been. If you are concerned for your people, do not start a war that will see many killed and many more treated as criminals for nothing they have done. Open diplomatic channels and establish appropriate conditions for their safety and happiness. We may be a slave city, but even we balk at the idea of salt-wives.   I take no shame in saying you are either a fool or a liar to dismiss the merits of this option over senseless war- particularly when your defenses for such action often hinge on statements of intended massacre of the ironborn people. The happy lives of northmen appear to be a rather secondary priority for you in this misguided vendetta.   And still you play the victim when you acknowledge rallying forces for war with him. Tragic indeed. A child who refuses to learn is one beyond hope, and so I shall abandon mine.   House Targaryen | Steffi the Redhead
I find it quite concerning that Essos is trying to influence us in our most stable period, a period without any major wars. And it’s very suspicious that all of this happens just after we exiled that northern noble to the Coast of Exiles.   Iron Bank of Braavos | {N.W.}[L.C.]DUTCHGAMER
Influence? I just want my money back.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
I am beginning to question how informed the magisters of Pentos are in this situation. You said and I quote, “If you are concerned for your people, do not start a war that will see many killed and many more treated as criminals for nothing they have done. Open diplomatic channels and establish appropriate conditions for their safety and happiness.” What exactly do you think even happened? Did I invade myself at Southern Wolfswood, Bloodlake East Bank, Ravyne Household, Green Dragon Inn, and the Cassel Household?   I was rallying support from Northern lords in order to achieve a diplomatic solution. I needed their support first because otherwise Lord Orkwood would invade me the second he found out I was trying to get him out of the north. One lord seemed fine with the Ironborn in the north and was reluctant to back me. Next thing I know I am being invaded.   How do you dare accuse me of going immediately to war and of ignoring all diplomatic solutions when that is EXACTLY what orkwood did. That was exactly his course of action. I was trying to resolve this peacefully when HE invaded ME.   Anyways as we said earlier, this conversation does nothing for anyone we have no reason to continue it.   Iron Bank of Braavos | {N.W.}[L.C.]DUTCHGAMER
We advise the lord in Winterfell to go for a morning walk and breath in deeply before being angry about some merchants in Pentos.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
True, I should probably worry more about the hordes of pirates coming to slaughter me and my people.   House Orkwood | Inpes
You have my word that I will not pursue you further if you merely surrender the lands that I have already invested the lives of my people in, agree to make no further attempts to have my land in the north removed, and accept the peace. I have publicly and am currently publicly extending this offer. My word before the realm is your insurance as would be your word before the realm as well.   House Stark | Jack Handy
A reasonable offer for the time, if I must say.   House Ryswell | Eddy
I have no influence on Pentos, and barely one on the Bank, my foolish and ineffective queen. If I had any sort of power Pentosi sellswords would be driving the Ironborn and Valeborn dogs from the North!   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
You are easily capable of ENDING this war, Lord Stark. You cannot play the innocent when you rallied armies for war. They only outmaneuvered your schemes.   Iron Bank of Braavos | {N.W.}[L.C.]DUTCHGAMER
Pentos, may I advise you, as a brotherly city, to stop poking a stick in this crazy pile of mud called Westeros. They can manage their own business.   House Ryswell | Eddy
Schemes?!? The Ironborn invaded westeros, broke their oaths in true ironborn fashion and murdered thousands of northmen.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
The matter is done. My every attempt to make Stark see reason has failed.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
All you have done is blame me for Orkwood invading me and give me treacherous advice. This matter doesn't concern you and yet you lecture me on what to do. You know nothing of my people's culture or seemingly even the basics of this situation. You have done nothing. But no you're right, I was a fool for looking for a diplomatic solution to the ironborn in the North; I deserved to be attacked.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
Had you sought a diplomatic solution instead of rallying an army to threaten war, I would be defending you.   House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
How would you even know what I was doing? Orkwood attacked me too quickly for me to even do anything. I didn't seek any sort of a solution because all I had done was reach out to fellow northern lords. What crime have I committed? It's true I wasn't nice in what I said about the ironborn but that was in private to men I thought I could trust. Now my lands are under siege and you call me an aggressor.   Free City of Pentos | Eddy
Pentos clearly doesn't understand how the world works. When your homeland is under occupation do you HONESTLY expect him to not at least explore a military angle? Madness!   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
The Ironborn’s homeland is occupied. Parts of the Reach and Dorne are occupied. The same to the Vale, and Riverlands. A Valelord even holds white harbor, and now rules the north. It confounds me when you do and don’t consider something an “occupation.”

Iron Bank Comes Collecting

Iron Bank of Braavos | {N.W.}[L.C.]DUTCHGAMER
The Iron Bank would like to remind all of Westeros that you owe us about 20k.   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
I can begin to help pay off the debt when my tournaments begin to turn a profit, which should start after this one.   Iron Bank of Braavos | {N.W.}[L.C.]DUTCHGAMER
Yeah, considering that with the tournament, you owe us about 20,500.   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
That was a donation I asked for, if you expect payment back for that, especially after I offered to already help with the debt, expect our future dealings to be minimal.   Oh and you did not donate 500 gold. You sent 494... Key Holder.   House Vance | Dezzo
What if we just.. refuse to pay them back? What're they gonna do?   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
Possibly a good idea Lord Vance.... but this something for The Small Council to decide.   House Vance | Dezzo
Of course. But if the Dragon Queen heeds the demands of men who dress as women and act as monks, has her fire died?   Iron Bank of Braavos | {N.W.}[L.C.]DUTCHGAMER
20,001 it is then.   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
20,002, we are not that low ha.   Iron Bank of Braavos | {N.W.}[L.C.]DUTCHGAMER
+1 every turn ;)   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
Not a bad rate ha

Songs of the Bards

  House Oakheart | Jack Handy
After spending time with House Swann, The Black Swann, and being inspired by his brilliance, I have written a poem about the Fall of House Ryswell and Ser Edward's exile to Essos.... be kind my Lords....   Oh Ser Edward
Oh Ser Edward Ryswell, once so bold and true
A lord of Winterfell, a man of honor too
But now in exile, sent across the sea
To live among the savages of Essos, wild and free   His crime, a secret, known but to a few
But banishment was dealt, as harsh as it was cruel
He left behind his home, his kin, his name
To wander in a land of heat and endless flame   But still he holds his head up high and proud
For in his heart, he knows he spoke aloud
The truth that others feared to say
And for that, he'll gladly pay   So sing of Ser Edward Ryswell, brave and strong
Who faced his fate, and didn't do wrong
For though he's banished, his legacy will last
A true Northman, till his dying breath is past.
  House Swann | PatMagroyn
The Black Swan in truth has little interest in affairs abroad. His attention towards gossip about the North has already pivoted to Lord Oakheart’s newfound interest in the arts. A scandalous subject. A river-like flow. Untrapped by purple prose. Siegfried applauds it with bombast. It itself inspires him to consider petitioning for a poet society to be created in the Kingdom’s Capital.   House Stark | Jack Handy
A place for Bards and mummers. I'm trying to write one about Lord Footly House Footly and his wall lol   House Swann | PatMagroyn
And the occasional ne’er do well of course.   And the South Wall will be a gold mine for generations. If you want it to be timeless, you shan’t forget to include a verse or two about his son being as wide as the subject itself.   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
Fat Lord Footly
Hark, ye all and lend an ear
To a tale of mirth and cheer
Of Lord Footly's rotund son
Who, in jousting, had just won   His girth did shake the tournament ground
As he charged with lance around
His foes did quiver and they quaked
For they knew they'd be outmatched   He knocked them down with one swift blow
And let out a mighty "Ho Ho!"
The crowd did cheer and sing his praise
For he'd won the jousting phase   But as he left the field that day
He tripped and fell in quite dismay
But fear not, for he got back up
And ate a feast, his victory cup   So let this be a lesson learned
That size don't matter, if you're well-earned
For Lord Footly's son did prove
That a big man can still move!
  House Ryswell | Eddy
*sniff sniff* It’s beautiful, Jack.   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
Thank you Ser Edward.   I was inspired to finish Footly's Wall....   Footly's Wall~
In the Reach of Westeros, Lord Footly had a plan,
To build a wall around his land,
A small southern wall, not very tall,
But enough to keep out all the squall.   He gathered bricks and mortar,
And set his builders to work,
They toiled and sweated,
As the wall began to lurk.   But as they built, they laughed and joked,
For Lord Footly was a jester,
He'd tell them tales and make them chuckle,
As they worked on his southern wall of pleasure.   They built it high and built it wide,
With towers and a moat,
And when it was all finished,
Lord Footly climbed to the top and shouted,
"Behold! My wall of glory and hope!"   But as he looked out, he saw the truth,
His wall was but a joke,
For all the land around him,
Was a vast and open oak.   But still, Lord Footly had a smile,
For he knew his wall was not meant to be,
A fortress of protection,
But a symbol of his wit and glee.   So let the winds and rains come,
For Lord Footly's wall is strong,
For it's built not with bricks and mortar,
But with laughter and song
I will be traveling the countryside with the Black Swann soon and touring with our new songs and poems. The Ballad of Oh Ser Edward Ryswell has been a popular one.   House Swann | PatMagroyn
The Black Swann eagerly announces that ‘Oak and Swann’ will be gallivanting from House Oakheart to House Webber, and then House Caswell to finally play at Footly’s Wall. From there, the troupe will follow the wind.   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
Let the tour begin. Unfortunately we will not be traveling to the North until tensions there cool off.
The Black Swann of Stonehelm and myself have written a ballad. Its content does not necessarily reflect our opinions on this matter but we do wish to see the North restored to its previous glory... thank you...   The Tale of John the Wolf & the Kraken of Orkwood
With axe in hand, Lord Orkwood stood tall,
Fighting for his land, his people, his all.
But the Young Wolf, Lord John Stark, was fierce and brave,
With honor in his heart, he sought to save.   The North was oppressed by the Iron Born's might,
But Stark fought for freedom, with all his might.
Orkwood's army marched, with blood in their eyes,
But Stark's men fought bravely, with courage and pride.   The battle was fierce, with death all around,
But Stark's men stood strong, and held their ground.
Orkwood was defeated, and his men fell,
But Stark's victory brought peace to the realm.   With Orkwood gone, the North was free,
Thanks to Lord Stark, who fought for you and me.
So let us sing of the Young Wolf's deeds,
And the end of oppression, in the Northlands of our creed.
House Stark | John Of Noobslayers
Winterfell thanks Lord's Oakheart and Swann. It is a nice ballad and will undoubtedly warm our hearts in the winter to come.   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
We are but simply Bards my Lord... men like you give us inspiration.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
Shame on these childish bards. Inflammatory words that lack even a rudimentary understanding of the events occurring will only worsen the crisis.   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
~ Now to write a silly poem making fun of the Princess of Pentos! Let thy Beef Wellington begin!!
Old Lord Vance
Old Lord Vance had many sons, A dozen or more, one by one. They lived in the Riverlands with pride, But their father's ways, they couldn't abide.   He loved to hunt and drink and dine, But his sons preferred to whine and whine. They wanted to be lords in their own right, But Lord Vance just laughed and said, "You're not quite."   One son wanted to be a bard, But he couldn't sing or play a lute, hard. Another wanted to be a knight, But he couldn't even wield a sword, not quite.   They all had dreams, but no ambition, So Lord Vance just shook his head with conviction. He'd say, "You boys are just like me, But you'll never be as great, you'll see."   And so, the sons of Lord Vance, Remained in the Riverlands, perchance, To live out their days, in mediocrity, But Lord Vance, he laughed, "It's just variety!"

An unnamed bard starts spreading gossip that the Free City of Pentos wishes to invade Westeros, supporting Orkmont’s invasion to weaken the unity of the Kingdom.   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)
How silly. How would I support a servant of the queen, against the queen?   House Swann | PatMagroyn
Serving maids, thieves, and squires alike speculate that as the Iron Islands and the North bleed themselves, there’ll be that much less Westerosi men at arms to defend against Pentoshi sellswords. Why else would an Essosi nation be so heavily invested in foreign affairs?   Free City of Pentos | woolhammer (was and is woolhammer)

Our Beloved Queen has commissioned several poems to be written. The subject of which was left up to me to decide...   Our Queen
With eyes like fire and hair like flame,
Queen Visenya Targaryen came,
To lead her people through war and strife,
And bring an end to endless life.   With the heart of a dragon, fierce and strong,
She marched across the land, so long,
Divided by war and greed and hate,
She brought the realm together, fate.   Through battles fierce and foes so cruel,
She stood her ground, her rule so true,
And when the dust had settled low,
The realm was one, a sight to know.   With banners flying high and proud,
Queen Visenya stood among the crowd,
And though the wars had taken their toll,
Her people knew they were whole.   For decades of war and unrest,
Were now a thing of the past,
And in her rule, the realm found peace,
And prosperity at last.   So let us sing of Queen Visenya,
And her deeds so great and true,
For she brought unity to the realm,
And a brighter future too.

Our Beloved Queen has commissioned several songs to be written. I decided to write one dedicated to why all the women of Westeros cry…   Queen
Queen, oh Queen, oh Targaryen Queeeen
I'm begging, you please don't take their men
Queen, oh Queen, oh Targaryen Queeeen
Please don't take them just because you can   Your beauty is beyond compare
With wintry locks of snow white hair
With autumn skin and eyes of amethyst lilac
Your smile is a melody of spring
Your voice soft like the summer rain
And not a single one can compete with you
Oh Queen   Men talk about you in their sleep
And there's nothing the women can do to keep
From crying when they call your name
Oh Visenya, Our Queen
And I can quite easily understand
How you could easily take their man
But you don't know what their sorrow means to me oh Queen

This is the last poem commissioned by the Queen. It tells of the delight that is The Red Keep.   Through the halls of the Red Keep
In King's Landing fair, where towers tall and grand
Stand proud beneath the sky, a queen doth reign
With Visenya's name, her court doth expand
With tournaments and feasts, and parties grand   Dornish influence doth pervade the land
With Prince of Lemons, Visenya's delight
He brings the warmth of sun, the touch of sand
And adds a spice to court, that's just right   King Consort Lucaelarr, by her side
Shares in the rule and splendor of the throne
Together they reign, with love as their guide
Their court a tapestry, woven and sewn   With jousting knights and ladies fair
With music, dance, and laughter in the air
King's Landing, a place beyond compare
Where queens and kings, their glory share.

Tangle of the Heirs

Ser Brendon Vance and his eldest son Rickard Vance arrive at Wayfarer's Rest after traveling to Stone Hedge to swear fealty to Lord Otho of the House Bracken... He is disappointed to find his father cared for only by the court Maester, but his brother, Vicky Vance has already taken from the coffers at the Wayfarer's Rest his portion of the inheritance.   Which legally is contested, since he already owns the estate of Whitewalls, and much of what has been removed from the coffers of Wayfarer's Rest actually belong to the estates of House Vance of Wayfarer's Rest and House Vance of Atranta.   Which ought to belong to the current head, and subsequently the heir, who is Ser Brendon Vance, after him. When confronted, Vicky Vance states that the gold was used to pay off a debt owed for the purchase of an extravagant Pentosi gown and jewels for his wife, Lady Jolean Vance, and that the rest is being transported to the coffers at Whitewalls, and that "We both own the gold my brother, have a drink and settle your temper."   After their sickly father yelled at the both, Vicky Vance was ordered to pay 3000 gold to his brother, Ser Brendon Vance. and reluctantly, he only paid 2200, claiming the rest will be arriving within the fortnight. Though this has caused much unneeded stress for Lord Alon Vance in his worsening condition, he has chosen to forgive his son Vicky for taking from his coffers.
Lord Alon Vance has entered into a deep sleep from which he has been unable to wake from, he is still breathing, but the Maester says that he may not wake within 7 days, and if this occurs he will not be able to replenish his strength and will subsequently pass in his sleep. For now, his eldest son, Ser Brendon Vance, has taken up the mantle of head of House Vance.   House Oakheart | Jack Handy
House Oakheart sends their regards to House Vance . The Lord of Wayfarer's Rest has been an honorable man in the Riverlands since before my time.   House Bracken | Jamhalo
I send my condolences to Ser Brendon Vance. Lord Alon was a loyal and true subject who will be sorely missed if he does not awaken.
