Argon
Artificer Argon
Oleander citizen and artificer for the Oleander Throne. He had borrowed a large sum of gold from the crimelord Jim Gallows in Paraetonium. In return for the money, he had agreed to help deliver certain goods to Gallows from the town of Ostia. However, as the kudzu grew and the town was overrun, he was unable to retrieve the items. Gallows enlisted the party to collect the items or collect Argon's head. When they arrived at his workshop, he had cast feign death on himself to make it appear as if the party were too late in their arrival, but the party saw through his spell. They interrogated him and discovered that he was keeping a young Tiefling girl, Mimsey, hidden in his basement. She had tried to steal from his shop and he caught her, but found that she was a refugee from the advancing kudzu and had no family or money. Fearing what the Oleander Throne would do to the non-human, he took her in.
He agreed to go with the party to recover Gallows' items in Ostia, where they encountered botanical undead and grasping vine as the great fey Acacia was seeking vengeance for her captured lover, Narahm, the Leviathan. The party communicated with Acacia and she allowed them safe passage and recovery of Gallows' items.
After the party returned the items and received forged citizenship papers, Argon offered to go with them to help them convince the Oleander forces at the Lighthouse that they were indeed citizens. In exchange, he wanted passage with the party for him and Mimsey. The party investigated the Lighthouse and discovered how the Leviathan was being held in captivity, posing as artificers working with Argon who are complaining that the magical supplies they are receiving are faulty. After, Argon was commissioned by the party to come up with a manner to break the Leviathan free.
When he did not return the next morning and instead sent Mimsey alone, the party investigated and found him being interrogated by the Archmage Hollow, questioning who was with them and seeing through the lies that the party had told. The party left Argon's workshop to create a distraction while the Archmage interrogated him. When they returned, they did not find any trace of him.
