Satyrs

"One more joke about being horny and I'll have you out of here quicker than you can say 'By the gods, they're sharp!'"   - Rosewood Satyr merchant upon hearing the same joke for the 3rd time that day.
I have encountered Satyrs before of course, however I was pleasantly surprised to find that on Nalan these hybrids are for more cognisant than they are on my home world, favouring their human half far more than their goat half.   That being said however they remain scarce in number, with precious few amounting to anything more than wandering nomads. In terms of their treatment, people of the Central Dominance are impressively open minded in terms of races, accepting even notoriously mischievous such as Goblins, and those of the Northern Dominance see far stranger on a day to day basis. The Southern Dominance is a different story - Satyrs here are treated more as beasts than as humans, and it is even believed that their horns have healing properties.   My experience with Satyrs on Nalan has been unfortunately fleeting, however from what I can tell most seem to be particularly in touch with the natural world, and unlike their cousins the Minotaur do not tend towards violence by nature.

Basic Information

Anatomy

All Satyrs boast a powerful set of neck muscles, needed for using the thick horns they bear on their head. They are able to move slightly quicker than humans thanks to their powerful legs, although they struggle with footwear.

Biological Traits

All Satyrs boast an impressive resistance to magical effects, making them dangerous opponents for a mage in combat.
"Popular and ignorant Mal'Harani beliefs aside, we strongly advise against consuming the horn of a Satyr. Not only is it cruel, it contains a poison that is lethal even in the smallest of doses"    - Empire public service document. The statement of Satyr horns being poisonous is, of course, a lie, however this and similar announcements have served their purpose well.
Considering the public's usual thoughts on hybrid creatures such as griffons and chimeras, aside from the obvious jokes, Satyrs receive fair treatment most places they could visit within the Central Dominance. Straying into the Mal'Haran province however would be fatal for a Satyr however, as the Saahr mandates that all hybrids are beasts rather than people.
