Heferth

Heferth Stockwell is the proprietor of The Salt and Plank. While he is physically a gruff and burly fellow, he is internally a marshmallow.

Before Obica

In his youth, Heferth served as a sergeant in the military. Although he doesn't talk much about his time in the service, it did leave a lasting impression. Heferth takes his societal obligations very seriously, and will behave heroically even to his own detriment.   He married young and had two children, who did not travel to Obica with him and his wife. His son is named Hollis.   Heferth neglected his education and never learned to read.   At some point, Heferth also learned to play the lute, but does not play publically often.

On Obica

Lacking any elected officials, Heferth is the default leadership of Twin Fingers. He does stick up for the town's best interests as he sees them, and is generally well respected by the residents.   As the many Stockwell's before him, Heferth is a competent brewer. His standard ale is still vastly improved by citrusy ship grog, so make of that what you will. He can, however, cook up dinosuar meat in many creative ways, and is a talented and experimental cook.   Heferth and his wife, Heather, jointly manage the Salt and Plank. Because Heferth cannot read, Heather does the majority of the book keeping.   Heferth was elected by the Town of Twin Fingers to be the representitive to make contact with the elves. His wife was concerned that he would act brashly because of his former military service, and Macaria promised to watch out for him and keep him safe.   On the day that he died, Heferth had a really great day. He had a fancy spa day with his friend Mateus, and had a long carriage ride to the the elf palace with an open bar and he got to talk about his old war stories a lot. That evening, while asleep in his bed, Heferth was murdered by a ghost. Because he died within the elf kingdom, his spirit is likely trapped in the Soul Catch in the Necropolis.   Nel'Tari Zoral discovered his body, and Macaria put him in the Bag of Holding to keep his corpse safe while they escaped the palace. Godgil Jadehewer took the corpse back into the Kingdom of the Hollylin Wood to present to King Cien as evidence that the Ghost Council was trying to assassinate the delegation. When Godgil fled for his life with Nath and Prince Rhys, he left the corpse behind.
