Nel'Tari "Nel" Zoral is a
Kalashtar Druid in the Circle of Stars.
Before Obica
Nel grew up with a nomadic family of merchants. He joined the military and continued to travel as an adult, and belongs to the
Order of The Eternal Torches.
His commanding officer was originally assigned to go on the expedition to Obica on behalf of the Kalashtar military. Nel, made sure that he has an "accident" so that he could be assigned to the mission.
On Obica
Nel has been having dreams about the towers. The first one he dreamt of had a purple glow, and the world ending in fire around it. In his second dream, the tower glowed green, and had a small town of the
imperial people living in a small village around it.
On the way north to the
Cloud Spire,
The Maneater was attacked by hostile forces. After death, one defeated creature shapeshifted back into a fellow member of the Order of the Eternal Torches that came to Obica before Nel, but had not checked in after arriving.
Macaria helped Nel speak to the dead to find that the entire company was attacked on the beach and dragged into the water. The deceased had a red coral needle in their neck, and indicated that the needle caused the change that allowed the kidnapping entities to control them.
Godgil's experiments with the needle only caused the death of the subject. The dead man also said that any other turned individuals could not be turned back.
Inside the
Cloud Spire Nel met the ghost of another Kalashtar, Daidre. She asked that the remaining trapped Kalashtar people trapped in the
Clovus Waste be set free in exchange for her disabling the tower. Finding and freeing the trapped Kalashtar is a major goal for Nel.
Morios, guardian of the
Divination Tower recognized Nel and called him by the title of "adjudicator" and granted him access to the tower itself.
After reaching
Skeldhome and entering
Intet the Dreamer's to become part of the tribe, Nel diplomatically helped arrange the wedding of
Radha and
Rhys in
Twin Fingers.
Nel tragically died while looking for his companions
Nath and
Oreithyia, who were left behind when traversing through the mines of the
Skeld Range. He was attacked and poisoned by a wyvren. However, his
Kalashtar companion
Tari offered to swap conscious places with him to allow him to rest and recover for a time in her plane.
