Coralscalp

Harvested from under the waves where the Hedge and the ocean meet, coralscalp resembles kelp from a distance. Only close inspection reveals it to be made up of long, fine, hair-like fibers. When dried and smoked, coralscalp bolsters a changeling’s sense of self for the remainder of the scene; she gains a bonus die on perception rolls and rolls to avoid losing Clarity. Afterwards, however, the character experiences mild hallucinations, suffering a-2 penalty to all perception rolls for the following scene.

Habitat

Coralscalp grows in saltwater sources throughout the continent with. It is notable that it tends to grow in patches rather than in rows. Most often it is found washed up onto local shores though it can be harvested fresh if one is willing to traverse into the waters. It often can be hazardous to small ships if caught within a patch of it as enough coralscalp can tangle and slow a small vessel.

Growth & Cultivation

Coralscalp has not yet been propagated with any success outside of its oceanic habitat. While many have managed to successfully grow the plant, it does not retain it's clarifying qualities outside of its natural watery domain.
