Laura Iphigenia Hale
Talia Hale had been grooming her as her successor since Laura's early teens, and when the Hale House Fire killed the majority of the Hale Family, the rank of Alpha passed to Laura.
Forced to care for her deeply traumatised brother, Laura made the choice to leave their uncle Peter Hale in a nursing home in Beacon Hills and move to New York to start over.
She graduated high school shortly thereafter, and enrolled in New York University, majoring in architecture.
In 2010, six years after the fire, she recieved a letter (sent, unknown to Laura, by Nurse Jennifer) which suggested there was an unknown werewolf active in Beacon Hills. In early December, she left Derek in New York and returned to California to investigate.
After three weeks of investigation, she was killed on the night of December full moon by Peter Hale, so that he could take her Alpha abilities and use them to avenge Talia by killing Kate Argent.
When he was unable to contact her, Derek followed her out to Beacon Hills, eventually finding her body in the Beacon Hills Nature Preserve.
