OttL Session 25: The Toad's Boardwalk

General Summary

Ship Cleanup

As the session begins, the party performs a thorough inspection of the ship to check for residual spiders from Session 24.5: RP chat roundup - Sparring, Abusive Parents, and Spiders.  Inspection locates egg sacs within the bowels of the ship, and Ignacio Icarsus goes in to destroy as many as he can alongside a few more spiders that he found crawling around within. The party discusses at length options for cleaning the rest of the ship, the leading suggestion being cloudkill, but nobody in the party could cast it and scrolls cost around 4K gold, which they could not afford.

Plane Shifting

The party plane shifts to the astral sea, and Natsu incurs damage once again in the process. Upon arrival at The Toad's Boardwalk they find themselves only a few feet above some of the local buildings. Izar sails the ship to the docks, as the residents gawk and stare. They do not land in the water, for fear the Astral Sea will harm the vessel.

Exploring the City

After disembarking, Izar and the party talk to some locals. They speak in a strange language, but seem capable enough of switching to common after it becomes clear the party does not understand them. They are directed towards Toad's Crossing, a large building on the other side of town where lost souls can find each other. The Toad's Boardwalk is very dense and crowded, but nobody is in any sort of hurry. Some stores simply say "open whenever we feel like it".
Upon arrival, Natsu scopes the room but finds few people worth stealing from. Thaiva Phenol waits in line to see a clerk, who pulls the record of Arianna Weskey and asks if Thaiva is the "Bumblebee" mentioned in said papers. Thaiva answers in the affirmative and then directs her to a small cottage on a hill outside of the city.

The Weskey Siblings

The crew sails around the island in search of the cottage. They are still a fair distance from the actual residence when they spot Chaze Weskey sitting on a cliff with his pet blink dog. Thaiva Phenol goes to see him, and Natsu follows since she is wearing the Ouroboros Pendant. They exchange pleasantries and have a little bit of small talk before making their way up the hill.
As Chaze slowly meanders up the path, party members in tow, Arianna "Daisy" Weskey can be seen running down the hill, headed directly towards them. Thaiva runs to meet her, but the romantic moment is ruined when she gets closer and sees that Daisy is actually being chased by a swarm of bees.
The party immediately turns around, fleeing from the bees for a considerable distance before escaping and lying to rest on the hillside. Once the danger is passed Thaiva and Daisy spend a long romantic moment and make small talk for a little bit before Thaiva gets down to business and explains to Daisy that Lolth intends to use her as leverage.
The four discuss options for some time, but do not come up with any conclusive plans for how to keep the siblings safe. Eventually Daisy decides she at least wants to meet the rest of the crew, so the siblings are brought back to Barry the Airship.

The Grand Tour

Thaiva shows Chaze and Daisy around the ship, introducing them to everybody. Hobbs is busy teaching his new baboon how to cook eel pie, and Ignacio Icarsus is still experimenting with his samples. After an extended amount of small talk and looking around, the Weskey siblings go back onto the deck. Shortly after, Femtid approaches Thaiva rather nervously, explaining that she just had a vision of Daisy getting into a bar fight. Thaiva thinks for a moment before excitedly turning to Natsu and asking if they could take the siblings to The Wandering Tavern for Ouroboros to protect them.
