Muri

Created soon after Dawa, Muri is the school of arcane science located within Favus. Alchemy and other practices are studied here, with an emphasis on mixing science and magic. While not as popular as the other schools, Muri is still an essential part of Favus and pushes the boundaries of what is known to intelligent life.

Demographics

Most students of Muri are elves native to Favus, though students of all kinds are welcome. Wealth means nothing at Muri as when enrolled, students must live on campus and can only bring a limited amount of objects with them. The rest is supplied by the school.

Government

Mandrake Aeris runs Muri with an iron fist, having graduated from it first on her journey to become a Mandrake and then returning to it first as a teacher and then as its headmaster. Though all schools fall under the rule of the Cypress Council, Mandrake Aeris is more likely than any other to ignore their orders and created her own.

Industry & Trade

Muri students work on campus as well as learning there, and Muri has exchange programs to other countries in order to expand their scholarly scope. Muri students sell their inventions through the school to Favians and to other countries, though the students hold the patents for any inventions they make through the school.

Guilds and Factions

The school is seperated in two ways, those practicing magical healing and those practicing non magical healing, and then those who are native to Favus and those who are not, or at least those who are not able to adjust to living in Favus. While all students must pass an entrance exam to enroll, those not native to Favus find living in the swamplands difficult. Enrollment grants automatic citizenship, but dropping out disposes of that perk. Often times students who want to keep citizenship but find themselves at odds with the reality of living in Favus will also find themselves at odds with native Favians.

History

Created by those of the refugees not inclined towards healing but inclined towards magic, Muri was the second of the schools to be created on Favus. It has a long history of accidentally burning down and needing to be rebuilt, and the students dorms and the library of rare books are built far away from the buildings where the actual experimenting is done.
