The Uncanny Basin
A swampland of wetlands and marsh, with the East a Cypress forest and the rest an enchanted land of mystery, the Uncanny Basin is called that because what one sees while living there is often uncanny. Full of rare herbs with unique and strange properties, and animals whose skin and scales can be used in many a potion, the Uncanny Basin is a bautiful and resource filled place. The few areas that are civilized are perfectly safe...if you are careful. But even those who live there know better than to venture out alone.
Geography
The swamp of the Uncanny Basin was left undisturbed for years. Untouched by the Andalusian Empire, it's secrets remained hidden. Water and raised ridges of marsh weave together, cypress trees with their extended roots creating the illusion of solid land.
Fauna & Flora
Deadly and dangerous but also priceless. Herbs and flowers that could be used to make potions and heal, that even today more research needs to be done on. Deadly animals who could be hunted, or could hunt.
History
It is unknown when the Uncanny Basin was created. Some ruins of the Andalusian Empire have been found in Qahila, Adularia, Arator, and Apis, but further North and East no such ruins have been discovered. If the Andaulsians explored the Uncanny Basin they left behind no record of having done so. The Apians who fled religious persecution and found themselves lost in the Uncanny Basin felt themselves to have been led by Ibu'fen herself there. After all, they sought only to be healers. The herbal remedies that could be created with the Uncanny Basin's resources were immeasurable and so Favus was born in the depths of one the most deadly natural locations in Prodosía.
