Session 3 Recap - "Killed in Action"

We last found our heroes trudging through the filth of low city on the Rock of Bral. While there they ran into a messenger Dohwar named Dalo who delivered a mysterious note asking to meet at the Laughing Beholder. They reached the establishment's basement only to find Boatswain Tarto waiting for them.
Close, But No Cigar
Tarto explained to the players that Vocath was a criminal most foul and as psychotic as they come. His motives are chaotic and unhinged with the only underlying connection being the complete annihilation of the Spelljammer Corps. She mentioned that Mirt, who was now in a coma, had made a deal with Vocath to purchase Spelljamming Helms for the fleet. The deal fell through for some reason prompting the start of Vocath's revenge.   Tarto believes that there is a lack of "intelligence" within the Spelljammer Corps. and all of these terrible things could have been prevented. So, she decided to modify the dossier of each of our heroes to reflect their very unfortunate deaths at the battle of Spelljammer Academy. She proposed the creation of the first "intelligence gathering" branch of the Spelljammer Corps. which would help protect Realmspace in complete secrecy. The nameless souls that make up this branch will move in the shadows behind enemy lines to bring back the information the Corps. so desperately needs. All of which our heroes agreed.
Honor Among Thieves
Tarto charged the players with tracking down Vocath and suggested seeking out Meradin Sandyfoot who was rumored to have had dealings with the Arcane in the past. Meradin is a leader of halflings who operate deep beneath the burrows of low city. The heroes tracked her down and convinced her to help find Vocath and his base of operations. She would put them in contact with someone who had been to the Arcane's lair and all they had to do in return was a small favor...break some chains. Halflings continue to go missing and Meradin is convinced something on Anadia's moon Drak'thrun is behind it. So, our heroes took their new nameless ship, disguised as merchants, and headed for the sphere of splendors.
The Dust Must Phlogh
Our heroes landed upon the deserts of Drak'Thrun and found an outpost known as Sandridge Port. This port was owned and operated by the Terra Nova Mining Company, a for-profit organization that mined the mineral known as X-Phlogh. While grabbing a drink at the Rock Bottom Inn they met a man named Issac Bennett who was a little uneasy talking about his employers with strangers at first. After a quick discussion about the Halfling sightings, Issac agreed to smuggle our heroes onto a Grav-Train headed for the dark side of Drak'Thrun.
Live for today, gone tomorrow
After stowing away on the train our heroes stopped at a large estate located on the dark side of Drak'Thrun. The temps were approaching below zero and freezing rain began to peck at their exposed skin like needles. They hurried inside only to find danger at every corner. They were attacked by two creatures who guarded a very peculiar map of Realmspace with a red "X" across certain planets and their moons.   Will our heroes be able to track down what happened to the missing Halflings? Will Meradin be able to help find Vocath so he can be stopped before the next tragedy? Find out next time on...
