Kipyong

The Kipyong are a collection of nomadic tribes that live east of the Guuldraig Mountains. They are famed for their horsemanship, and especially for their horse archery. The tribes of the Endless Plains have fought eachother for centuries, but powerful warlords have also fought the Suihai and the Kusharans.

Most Kipyong live a hunter-gatherer lifestyle, following the herds of great beasts across the plains, but farming, mining and fishing also sustain some communities that make small permanent settlements as a result. Most of these are part of a larger, nomadic tribe, with whom they will trade, and on whose protection they rely. Warlords will sometimes unify several tribes and go on raiding campaigns, into Suihai, the Kusharan Principalities, or across the Gulldraig into the Thualian Barrens. Here, there is little to raid, and fierce Thualians, so often the warlords that attempt that are in fact aiming for the rich kingdoms of western Sildair, and mean to negotiate safe passage, or even to join forces, with Thualian raiders.

The Kipyong are humans, with a lot of orc blood mixed in, owing to their centuries long interaction with the orc tribes who share many of their cultural traits. They tend to have dark olive skin, and dark eyes and hair.

Most of the Kipyong revere Anira, and temples and shrines can be found to her, doted over the Endless Plains. Other gods that are worshipped among some of the Kipyong include Luseidos, Asha & Orgus, Karos, Ethelaius and Yanlei.
