Mardorians

In the far west of Sildair, on the Mardorian peninsula, live the Mardorians. They are a proud, independent people, many of whom live on the slopes of the Stormepeak mountains. In the port city of Bargolard, the Archduke of Mardoria has established himself as the leader of all of Mardoria, though in practice, many of the mountain chieftains care little for the rule of some city-dweller.

Mardorians are divided into two groups: the highlanders, who are shepperds and hunters, and the lowlanders, who are farmers, merchants and sailors. In the highlands, many are warriors too, as they share the mountains with goblin and orc tribes.

The Mardorians are mostly human, with some dwarves of Gorl descent in the mountains, and some elves in the south east. The humans and dwarves tend toward fairer skin, with both dark and blond hair, while the elves are usually of Yunathrans descent, giving them the unique golden skin.

The Church of Light dominates the religious culture of the lowlands, as it does in most of Western Sildair, but in the mountains, the highlanders worship Anira over all others.
