The Kingdom of Morogar (MORE-ro-gar)
To the north west of Sarkara, behind the Rygan mountains, lies the kingdom of Morogar. A rough untamed land, the Morogari are a tough people, who have seen their share of hardship. For much of the Golden Epoch they were at war with, and then conquered by, the Sarkarans, which is why they today speak a dialect of Sarkaran, but they have been an independent Kingdom for all of the Silver Epoch.
Government
Morogar is a feudal kingdom, divided into duchies which in turn are divided into counties and sometimes baronies. The king is the ruler of all the lords of the land, who in turn rule their respective provinces. Sheriffs are tasked with the internal safety of the land, and nominally answer only to the king, though in practice they are often closer with their local lord. The lords in turn, are tasked with fielding armies at the request of the king, and gathering taxes on his behalf. A counsil of lords, chosen among all the nobles of the land, assists the king in his duties.
History
The Morogs were a tribe of humans who lived around Kirsack Bay. They established the city of Morkalin sometime in the early Golden Epoch, and at some point, their High Chieftain begins refering to himself as King.
