Avernus

Avernus, the first layer of The nine hells , serves as the gateway to the infernal realms. This desolate plane stands as an eternal battlefield, forever engulfed in The blood wars against the forces of The abyss . Countless legions of Devils stand ready to combat invading Demons , fiercely defending their domain while occasionally launching their own incursions into the Abyss.
Geographically, Avernus is the most infernal of all the layers in the Hells. It teems with rivers of blood and molten magma, surrounded by jagged rocky mountains and obsidian pillars. The crimson sky crackles with fireballs, hazardous objects that seem to soar and plummet at random. The endless expanse of the plane is largely coated in blood, left behind by the clashes between demons, devils, and other combatants. Avernus serves as the ever-present stage for innumerable battles that unfold continuously.
At the heart of Avernus, the mighty River styx flows with unmatched force and turbulence. Composed of viscous, crimson blood instead of water, it courses through all the lower planes, but in Avernus, its power reaches its apex. Fed by the flowing blood of the plane, the River Styx becomes a strategic asset and a focal point for attacks launched by various forces, primarily demons. Its treacherous currents pose a significant danger to those who traverse them, eroding sanity and memories with each touch.
Additionally, some pillars from the layer below, the city of Diss , protrude into Avernus, forming connections between the layers. Asmodeus permits the creation of portals exclusively within Avernus, making it the most frequently visited part of the Nine Hells. However, it also remains a constant battlefield.
Zariel , the first Fallen angel , reigns supreme over Avernus and commands the infernal armies under Asmodeus. Her status as the inaugural Angelic descent instills fear even in the higher planes. Zariel's fall from grace reverberated throughout the celestial realms, as she embraced the path of darkness and became a formidable figure for the hierarchy of celestial beings
Avernus serves as the dwelling place for numerous evil deities. Weaker gods, such as Goblin's ,Orcish , and Kobold's , find their domains within this plane. Alongside them, imprisoned within her own domain, is Tiamat , the queen of chromatic dragons. Avernus acts as both her domain and her prison, with her followers residing in this infernal plane. They are relentless in their devotion, tirelessly striving to release her from her prison, seeking to establish a true domain for her reign.
