Imperial Shock Trooper Corps

A separate branch that remains under the Imperial Navy , the Shock Trooper Corps, serves as an elite spearhead of the Imperial Navy. While the Imperial Army can vary from regiment to regiment in its equipment and overarching structure, the Shock Troopers all maintain mostly the same equipment and structure, with minor variations made on a per-system basis depending on their needs. They have the latest in Imperial Tech, and are considered across the board far more professional soldiers than most of their brethren in the Imperial Army. However, they are much smaller than their Imperial Army brethren, and might lack some of the political power that comes with serving in the Imperial Navy.   Despite all of this, the Navy is well aware that the Shock Trooper Corps allows them relative freedom from having to bend over to the demands of their rivals in the Imperial Army, and thus they funnel plenty of funding and leeway to the Shock Trooper Corps, ensuring they have all they need to keep their edge.      Their armor has and equipment has become a symbol of the faceless and cruel imperial oppression all over the galaxy. Recruits are often picked up from the Core Systems and the Mid Rim and then sent back to one of the various training locations in the Empire, including places like Monterey Naval Yards , Atlas and the royal academies on Babylon. The recruits for the Shock Trooper Corps are rigorously vetted and conditioned for their loyalty to the Empire, and loyalty tests are key to getting a position within the Trooper Corps.     Many Shock Troopers who find themselves out of service end up working for one of the various megacorporations after their service to the empire, collecting a pretty paycheck as private security in the Mid Rim.

Structure

The highest level of organization is the Shock Trooper Legion, which is assigned to a Imperial Navy Grand Admiral. These legions serve at the behest of the Grand Admiral, and are fully self contained including their support divisions within these legions. This is meant to ensure that the Shock Troopers remains readily available and capable of quickly deploying to hot zones around the galaxy.   They are highly flexible and well trained and meant to be easily re-deployed into different systems as quickly as possible. This means that the individual regiments are almost entirely self sufficient, with their own armor, engineering, air corps and much more. They rely entirely on the Navy for their logistics, internal policing, intelligence and for their medical brigades.
