GR 23: Full Circle
Originally created as a solo adventure, it picked up on the story started in GR 21: Shards of Time, when Captain Kirik Di'Arro of the Reverie was in port in the town of Tziarer. Coming to the aid of a young northern maiden who had apparently lost her memory, all he could learn was her name “Jhenea.” Encountering a great Elder Träull named Medeggi at the site of an old Cha’alite mosque, Kirik learned that there was more to Jhenea than he was aware. Suspecting that the Träull may have taken over her mind by means of an ancient elváen Starsword, he brought Jhenea to Mistress Teroth Eamarilth at Hollenmoor.
Returning to New Haven in the past, Kirik discovered his role in the original quest for the shards. He himself had been the mysterious messenger who had brought the first shard to Duke Touri Southaven (again, in Campaign 21). Taking up in present time, Kirik set out to find Medeggi — this time by land. Traveling with two Saurian lizardmen — the disgruntled Captain Pholerus and the annoying, pipe-smoking Kilrac — the party stumbled upon one of the ancient Temples of the Sky in the distant past. A foreign-looking man was found unconscious outside its open doors, later captured by Thrau attackers. The man had worn the circle pendant of the High Keeper of Aishelon. Returning to the ancient mosque, Kirik confronted Medeggi, who could not be killed by mortal means. In the temple, Kirik discovered the stature of an angelic Messenger, who bore a striking resemblance to Jhenea.
Returning to Austvalle, Jhenia convinced Kirik of his destiny to unite the seven broken shards of the Circlet of the High Keeper. Using the aid of Coranna Brenner, Kirik tricked King Southaven into “saving” the shards from “destined” loss in battle. He recovered the shards and headed north toward Fae'ri on Pholerus’ ship the Gidira.
OUTSIDE GAME-TIME: Eventually, it was understood that this was how Kirik had became involved in GR 1: The Great Quest — through his friends Pholerus and Jhenea (Geneanne). It was suggested the temporal hurricane of Campaign 1 was created by Kirik’s sword Valkstar.
MEMORABLE MOMENTS: The lizardman Kilrac wins the distinction of being the most annoying character in SpiritQuest history. Naturally, he fell victim to an unfortunate “accident” and became the second player-character to be summarily executed by the game Director.
