Hysteria 13: "Shinigami"
General Summary
Setting off on a mission to evacuate people from the vicinity of the MAY-5 base on Torrentia, Hinata and Niko encounter an old Kobayashist solider from the days of the Commune of Novarre, and convince him to leave. Back at MAY-5, Hinata gathers the last of Tsutsumi Hano's personal things from his mech, and sees a recording of him and his half-sister Iris Lorieux at a club in the Social Republic discussing his unknowing surveillance of Tan Bohai, the previous holder of the Temporavox, and the fact he is being used as bait to attract Siliconians by the Galactic Union of Space Forces.
Delivering his things to Astrea, she gets emotional, triggering Hinata to go back in time to the club, where he warns Tsutsumi not to go to MAY-5. Coming back to the present, Hinata finds the timeline changed, with his personal relationship with Astrea severed in favor of her being an SVG officer, with Tsutsumi still living. After meeting with Wei Wu and Sonia Vasile to discuss the implications of what's happened, Hinata learns that the Lorieux Dynasty may be a new subspecies of psionically enabled human.
Ruben Zulueta is finally arrested for his attempted blackmail of Hinata. At band practice with Louise finds that she has a cybernetic hand new to the timeline, due to Astrea not being there to assist in Hinata and Louise's escape from the Ecliptic fire six months ago. After Louise reminds Hinata that it's okay, he goes to hang out with Astrea, finding their new dynamic different than the previous timeline. Afterward, Hinata celebrates Tak's birthday with her and his sister, warding off Tak's latent feelings of anxiety.
