Afterlives
The Afterlives are a set of locations within the Cosmos of Subsolem Septem.
They are said to be found within the Three Eyes of the World Skull that upholds the Great Everything.
It is said that when the sapient beings of the Prime World Disk die their souls are pulled towards and into the City of Judgement which lies at the center of the Secondary World Disk and the Lower Realms where The Judge decides upon the merit and value of the life they lived and determines their fate for eternity.
Some cultures claim that those who lived a life of virtue and goodness go to one of the Afterlives while those who lived ambivalent lives go to the central eye and those who lived evil and selfish lives go to the last eye but nobody has ever proven it.
Other mystics and deathwatchers think that its not virtue or goodness that determines the eternal fate of each deceased soul but rather their own understanding and feelings towards their life meaning that a supremely evil soul thats entirely remorseless would then be granted eternal bliss while a soul genuinely dedicated to goodness but eaten alive by guilt regardless would be dealt eternal suffering.
In the People's Republic of Styx the Church of Serkatha preaches that those who lived a good and just life are then guided from the courtrooms by Saint Morvaen the Deathbringer into the caring arms of Serkatha herself to spend eternity by her side and that additionally the most dutifull and virtuous souls are remade in Serkatha's image to become Saints.
