Jayden Breandán Magrieth (a.k.a. Jay)
Far from the bustle of cities and towns, past the hedges that shelter the most distant farms from the terrors of the wild, amid the dense-packed trees of trackless forests and across wide and empty plains, rangers keep their unending watch. Jayden is a firbolg ranger from Pumpkin Patch who travelled with other adventurers to discover what was the cause of the Shattering of the Ordning.
Many rangers are more at home in the wilds than in civilisation, to the point where animals consider them kin. Rangers of the Beast Conclave develop a close bond with a beast, then further strengthen that bond through the use of magic. Jayden has a polar bear named Diesel as an animal companion, who was kidnapped when Jayden and Dirk visited the town of Nightstone.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Jayden is 7'6" with pale blue skin, broad muscled shoulders, and messy navy blue hair. He has a rather powerful build, allowing him to carry, drag, push, and lift a lot more than a typical man of his size.
Special abilities
Jayden has access to limited magic from being a firbolg. He can cast Detect Magic and Disguise Self, once per rest. Moreover, in combat, he can turn invisible for about six seconds, until the start of his next attack.
The Ardeep elf named Aludiane taught him the basics of druidic ranger magic, which he continued to practice. He also has an innate connection to runic magic, due to his uncle being the Runemaster of Pumpkin Patch.

Jayden wears scale mail. He carries various potions on his person, as well as keeping his valuables in a belt pouch. He has the Quiver of the Frost Queen, gifted to him by Cait Sídhe.

Personal history
Jayden was born in early spring of 7987 in the village of Pumpkin Patch, a village found in the Glacies Mountains. In his late teens, for some reason or another, he left as he was not getting enough attention.
He became an outcast and travelled far and wide around the east of Terra Caelum. In the summer of 8008, Jayden met Dirk, an uthgardt with a taste for adventure. Dirk told him that he was suffering from the Dragonborn Virus, and that he wanted to travel together. They first met when Dirk rescued Jayden and Diesel from a pack of remorhaz, and the group camped within a cave in the nearby hills.
Jayden and his dudebro Dirk had been passing through Salzenstadt right before the raid on Nightstone. They had already been travelling together, along with Jayden's animal companion (a polar bear named Diesel) before the cloud giant attack. They awoke in the town, finding Caity and Cathy sneaking around the town. With the polar bear missing, the four travelled together to the Dripping Caves, just north of Nightstone.
After defeating goblins, and rescuing the villagers of Nightstone, Jayden and the other three aided in the defence of the town from the Zhentarim, before travelling to Salzenstadt together to report the attacks, and for Cathy to receive her oath. Jayden met Binchild in the town of Nightstone, and since then, the five have been travelling as a group.

Jayden has an excellent memory for maps and geography, and he can always recall the general layout of terrain, settlements, and other features around him. In addition, he can find food and fresh water for himself and up to five other people each day, provided that the land offers berries, small game, water, and so forth.

Jayden likes nature, animals, theft, and dealing critical shots to enemies with his bow. He also likes sex, though has never indulged in it before.. He dislikes high prices and people trying to threaten or extort him.

Jayden's family still lives in Pumpkin Patch. His parents are Leachlainn and Bláthnat Magrieth. He has two brothers named Caomhán and Mathghamhain.

Jayden is generally very direct in his opinions, and when he is under the influence of alcohol, he loses his filter altogether. He is rather lustful when he drinks. He also has a need for attention, which was what led to him leaving Pumpkin Patch in the first place.

History
It was because of Jayden that Gaius joined the adventuring party. Gaius pledged himself to them as a healer, saying he would devote himself to healing them, as he respected them and shared the goal of finding the cause for the giants attacking settlements during the Storm King's Thunder.

Dirk and Jayden met in the summer of 8008. Dirk had been afflicted by the Dragonborn Virus for some time already at this point, and was honest about his condition. He had left his tribe to seek a cure, and along the way made a friend in Jayden. They trained and worked out together, travelling the fields of Nilfgaard and Salzenstadt, as well as brief detours through Thay. They truly started adventuring after Jayden's polar bear Diesel had been kidnapped during the Attack on Nightstone.
