Dirk is an uthgardt barbarian, hailing from the Uthgardt Wastes. He was a member of the Elk Tribe, based near Flint Rock.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Dirk is in peak physical condition, bar the Dragonborn Virus. He has thick muscly arms, a broad chest and broad shoulders.

Special abilities

For some, their rage springs from communion with fierce animal spirits. Others draw from a roiling reservoir of anger at a world full of pain. For every barbarian, rage is a power that fuels not just a battle frenzy but also uncanny reflexes, resilience, and feats of strength. Dirk is a barbarian and is able to channel his determination in combat into a furious rage, dealing extra damage and battering his opponents.

Apparel & Accessories

Dirk rarely wears a shirt, though he does wear leather armour from the waist down. He has an armoured shoulder pad made of cloth and bone wrapped around his right arm, hiding his draconic scales. Dirk wields the Black Jack, a magical darkmetal warhammer gifted to him by Cait Sídhe.

The Elk tribe is an uthgardt tribe that wanders the Uthgardt Wastes north of the Rubygold Mountains, specifically between Fog Harbour and Sarastobin. The Elk barbarians shun civilisation. Dirk is a member of this tribe, who left his kin after he was infected by the Dragonborn Virus. He had cut down a witch's tree, and in return, he was cursed by the witch with the virus. He left, and on his journey, joined a party of adventurers shortly after the Attack on Nightstone. Since then, he participated in the Attack on Goldenfields, and from there, his scales have been growing more and more prevalent up his arm.

Dirk enjoys most alcoholic beverages, in particular beer and ale. He also enjoys carousing with his friends, to the point where one time he awoke with a stuffed horse's head attached to his backside, and all of his clothes had swapped places with one another.

Dirk has many family ties within the Elk tribe. He is a descendant of Erni and Svanlaug. He is the son of Dak Arnórson and Oddrun Haraldursdottir. His cousins, Theodora Onarrsdottir and Almar Heidarson both either have or have had life partners, and Theodora even has an infant daughter named Ashildur.

History

Gaius met Dirk at the same time as the other adventurers. He met Dirk in the dungeon east of Goldenfields, where Dirk was injured as a result of the Dragonborn Virus spreading up his arm. Already pledging himself to that adventuring party as a healer, he now tries his best to keep Dirk safe and keep the virus from spreading any further. Gaius is... fond of the man, charmed by his Uthgardt ways.

History

Dirk and Jayden met in the summer of 8008. Dirk had been afflicted by the Dragonborn Virus for some time already at this point, and was honest about his condition. He had left his tribe to seek a cure, and along the way made a friend in Jayden. They trained and worked out together, travelling the fields of Nilfgaard and Salzenstadt, as well as brief detours through Thay. They truly started adventuring after Jayden's polar bear Diesel had been kidnapped during the Attack on Nightstone.
