Gyges City

Overview

Gyges City is a city at the edge of the Atlantia Planetia plain. It is actually a Twin City with another City - that of Gydes sitting on the other side of the Gygax River. It is placed near to the nexus with the Kingdom of Gadeira and acts as a port city for the western side of the continent. It is most noted for the presence of a World Tree Oak within the precincts of the city. This tree is the Oath Tree for all Druidic Circles in the Kingdoms, and many Druidic Circles are actually based in this city as a result - making it a rural-urban centre.

Gyges was known as the invisible city at one point with a circle of hedges forming a ring of invisibility and plant door spells (called the Ring of Gyges) surrounding it and providing it with absolute security from the outside through the inability of most (other than Druids and Rangers) at finding the city. Many traveling over the river from Gydes would disappear - now it is known why. The Ring of Gyges is broken, and many freely make their way to the city from its previously estranged sister city for it's trading and growth opportunities.
