Black Powder

The invention of black powder did wonders for the world. At first, the creation of cannons allowed to revolutionize sea battles as well as sieges. More weapons were produced and innovation followed. Personal weapons guaranteed a drastic change in combat. Then the Scourge Plague happened. Many people speculated it was due to the black powder becoming a common item, thus many countries barred its use, until more advanced forms appeared, thanks to Arcanite. Black powder is still used, with caution, even with the stigma of bringing the disease but it is less common in the Fifth Age, Current Age than in the Third Age, Kingdoms. The biggest producers of black powder are the Djun and Quadropolis. The Divine Empire is one of the few nations that use black powder in their armies as they will have companies outfitted with muskets as their main weapons.
