Sulantaar
Not just an elven nation, Sulantaar is the elven nation. It is their homeland, sacred and ancient. It shows what the elven race once was, a great race of marvelous artists and magic users. They still are but a shadow of its former self and not due to their own actions, tragedies just followed them. Sulantaar seeks to help other elven nations, at least how much they can, and is lead by a council of the eldest elves.
History
Sulantaar was once the name given to the great city of Sultaar in the Second Age, Godswar, the capital of the elven race. After the destruction, those that survived were found on the Elven Lands and the Sulantaar Isle became the race capital. The elves would create their culture and civilization, once again, on these shores. Using high magic to defend them from enemies and safeguarding the Alta'Eten'Urn Mountain, which became their sacred mountain, where many of the elves go to die of old age (if that is possible). The Sulantaar feels different than other elven nations and it is mainly to the magic of the land, making it feel otherworldly. During the Third Age, Kingdoms, many elves would come to the island, visiting the Lunea Island and Avendaar along the way, and in time, the elven race was whole again (at least complete enough). Thus, they created the Ar'Canui Council, the Council of the Navigators of Life, who lead the elven race, helping those that need it, even trying to reconcile with elves who were forgotten. Sulantaar was almost destroyed in the War of the Underworld and it took centuries for the elves to return to full glory, especially after another catastrophe in the Fourth Age, The Calamity. The Iconian Empire wasn't able to get past the high magic of the elves but other places burned around them. Their life would be always filled with melancholy, the sadness of the tragedy of the elven race. Many of the Elves: High/Gold stay in Sulantaar, seeking to better the race, especially after the Wise One, their patron god, descended and became "mortal" after The Second Divergence.
