Heartland

As its name suggests, the Heartland truly is the "heart" of the Aurelian Empire. It is the largest of its four main territories and is home to the capital city of Albion, from which the Rosewood dynasty rules the Empire. The current Empress is "The Queen of Hearts", Eunisia Rosewood.

Geography

The Heartland occupies the north-east range of the Empire and is comprised of rolling hills, lush valleys, and verdant forests. The great Alabaster Peaks, which separate the Aurelian Empire from the Lumen Theocracy to the North, are one of the Heartland's most famous features. The Eden River, one of the Adder's tributaries, flows through the Heartland from the Alabaster Peaks and through one of Albion's districts.

History

The War of Four Suits 

Though Duke Brutoris' end goal was to siege the capital, most of the fighting took place in Diamondfeld and Clovergarde. Comparatively, the Heartland suffered little fallout from the rebellion. When the rebellion's forces pushed towards Albion, they were almost immediately routed when Ser Melchor Fritz and High Clerist Selena Wisel met them on the field and beat them back to the south.
