Coaria

Coaria is the city of the Carcharion, and is located somewhere within their ancestral homeland in the Sharkhan Mangroves.   The city is said to be hidden in a maze of underwater coral tubes, which form the "roads" of the city. The few explorers who claim to have visited the place say that large caved islands, walled with coral can be reached from within the tubes, and that the city is alive with colourful fish, cephalopds and crustaceans swimming amongst the coral alongside Carcharion guards, citizens and pups.   Tales also tell of huge chambers dedicated to the Shark-Father, Sekolah, decorated with unidentifiable bones hanging from the ceiling above a statue of the god, carved from the living coral.

Notable Features and Buildings

Caves of the Blind
The Caves of the Blind are home to the matriarchs of the city and their blind leaders, who are said to be able to foretell the future in the shifting sands of their home.   Chamber of Sekolah
This massive cavern is the main entrance hall into the city. In the centre of the cave is a massive statue to the shark-god Sekolah, festooned with the corpses of vanquished enemies.   Coaria Guard
The main guardhouse of Coaria sits next to the main entrance chamber. It is manned by a troupe of Great White Carcharion wielding tridents and wearing blood red sashes.   The Feeding Frenzy
The Feeding Frenzy is a large cavern that is used as a feeding hall for the citizens. Long stone tables laden with bowls of freshly caught fish and meat run throughout the hall. There are no set meal times, and the place is always a frenzy of ripping and tearing and blood splatters the floor.   Hall of Bones
The Hall of Bones is a large cavern where dead Carcharion are laid to rest. Their bodies are interred in the waters here and left to decompose naturally, so the sandy bed of the cavern is covered in thousands of huge shark-like skeletal remains.   Hall of Predation
The High Carcharion council sits in the Hall of Predation. From this large cavern decorated with trophies from fallen foes the council plans for the defence and needs of the Carcharion nation.   Nursery
The nursery in Coaria is a huge coral-rimmed pool where many young pups swim and are taught to hunt.   The Shiver
A collection of large connected caverns serves as the main marketplace for the city. Here goods raided from sunken wrecks and stolen from coastal settlements are traded.
