Vashkelholme Kjarnarrick

The Vashkelholme Kjarnarrick (Kingdom) is the Dwarven homeland, found on the northern peninsula of Largitas. Characterized by its rugged and mountainous terrain, frigid weather, and abundant natural resources, it is often seen as a bastion against the Bloom. It includes the Isle of Bromleck as well as the mainland, with its Capital City of Broyoto having been a hub for excursions into the bloom for decades. However, with the most recent Blooming, almost half the kingdom has been subsumed by the Bloom, including the Capital City and many towns, villages and cities, as well as the border forts that once protected the lands.

The Impact of the Bloom

Bloom Encroachment:

Loss of Territory: Almost half of Vaskelholme has been consumed by the Bloom, including key cities, towns, and the once-impenetrable border forts.
Surviving Regions: The remaining territories, including the Isle of Bromleck, now serve as the last bastions of Dwarven civilization in the kingdom.

Resistance Efforts:

Refugees: Many Dwarves have fled the Bloom-infected areas, seeking refuge in the safer, northern regions of Vaskelholme and beyond.
Bloom Research and Scouting Corps (BRASC): Vaskelholme works closely with BRASC, providing support and expertise in their ongoing efforts to understand and combat the Bloom.   Vaskelholme, once a thriving and powerful Dwarven kingdom, now stands as a testament to resilience in the face of overwhelming adversity. With half of its territory consumed by the Bloom, including its capital city, the kingdom fights to protect its remaining lands and forge a future amidst the chaos. Through strategic defense, collaboration with allies, and an unwavering spirit, the Dwarves of Vaskelholme continue their struggle against the encroaching darkness.

Structure

Capital City:

Broyoto: Once a thriving hub of Dwarven culture and industry, Broyoto is now a tragic symbol of Vaskelholme’s struggle. It served as the primary launching point for expeditions into the Bloom and was heavily fortified. The fall of Broyoto was a devastating blow, both strategically and emotionally, for the Dwarven people.

Governance:

Monarchy: The kingdom is ruled by King Thrain Ironfist, a wise and seasoned leader known for his resilience and dedication to his people.
Council of Clans: The king is advised by a council made up of the heads of the major Dwarven clans. This council helps to manage the kingdom’s resources, military strategy, and internal affairs.

Military:

Dwarven Army: Renowned for their discipline and combat prowess, the Dwarven soldiers of Vaskelholme are equipped with some of the finest weapons and armor in Largitas.
Border Forts: Historically, the kingdom maintained a series of border forts to protect against threats. These forts have either been overrun or remain under siege due to the latest Blooming.
