Cyndraaki (Sin draa keye)

During the "Unending War" the Kingdom of Eoiden fought against the elven kingdom known as the Erlinians. Alvarian Diresius, the king of Eoiden at the time, had made calls for the people of the Kingdom (later called Cynndracca) who were the most loyal and true believers to volunteer for the war as symbols of their great devotion to their dragon gods. He promised that the blood of the dragons would flow through their veins. They would be imbued with the power of the dragons forever. They would be reborn and be symbols that would win the war. Many volunteered, but of the hundreds that volunteered, only a select few made the ranks. Both men & women numbered around 150. For about 2 months nothing was heard from them. The king came forth and announced the dragon gods had blessed the chosen and that they had been born of the dragons. He called them the Cyndraaki. They joined the ranks of the army and became one of the most successful regiments. At first they were admired for their strength & faith. But even though they were the most successful it became obvious that they were not going to win the war for the people. Over time fewer & fewer people came forward to fill the ranks of the fallen. Though they were admired for their deeds and sacrifice, after the war had ended they started to be seen as frightening. Many had the characteristics of chromatic dragons & were not as trusted. After a while the next generation of cyndraaki were born as children of the first generation. It became clear that their kind were here to stay. They were incorporated into the culture at large, but felt very out of place. After the war to be seen as useful, they were "hired" to build the kingdom back up. Many of the great cities of the Kingdom of Cynndracca are here because of their work. The majority of the dragonborn founded a town called Dragonsong and then a few others over time. Although some attempted to make a home for them in Veropia. They were mostly feared by the general population and only were allowed a place in Veropia because it served the elite to make a treaty with any of the wayward Cynndraaki. A few remained in the capital of Cynndracca. Most keep to themselves in Dragonsong. Few have ever been seen out of those few cities and their land roundabout. Life has become harder for them since the end of the war, which now is about 80 yrs past.
