Dusken Rosefields

Vainly named by Jesma Al'ella after her self-styled title, the Dusken Rose, the Dusken Rosefields are a rich, expansive grassland that encompasses the entire eastern lands of the Dominion of Indulgence. The Rosefields are the breadbasket of the Dominion of Indulgence, and are considered the most fertile lands in all of Ragnarok, capable of growing enough food to comfortably sustain the large populations of the dominion and beyond. The ground here is unique. Much like the Vairwood trees in the Sintallian Forest that they border, the soils of the Rosefields are suffused with remnants of left-over Magic from the Rebirth, allowing the growth of rare species of grains and wheats. Vegetables and fruits grown here are slightly larger than most places in the world. The warm, temperate climates and the warm winters are in part thanks to the proximity of the Dominion of Indulgence to the Whip of Fire, where currents of warm wind blow over Ragnarok's south-western lands. This allows for seasonal fruits to be grown all year round.

The Three Houses

The Dominion of Indulgence is famous for its rich wines and ales, and the Dusken Rosefields are home to a number of competitive breweries and vineyards owned by many powerful noble families. Through years of cut-throat business practices and intrigue, three noble houses have elevated their empires above all others. House Al'thanz. Owned by Lady Vrisha Al'Thanz, the House of Al'thanz owns the largest winery empire and collection of vineyards outside of the city of Ambrosia. The house's collection of red wines are distinct for their secret blends of red berries. No one knows their secret methods, and many attempts have been made to acquire their recipes, both above and under the table. Despite the size of her business empire, partaking of Al'Thanz's red wine is common among even moderately wealthy nobles, and many more powerful aristocrats shun it for its commonplace status. House Al'raus. Owned by Lord Rivus Al'Raus, the house of Al'raus owns the most wealthy business empire of the three houses. House Al'Raus are experts in the art of manufactured exclusivity. Only a few casks of wine will be brewed each year, but the quality of the grapes they use to make their white wine is said to be so exquisite that the most powerful nobles in the dominion will spend exorbitant amounts of gold for even a single bottle. House Al'Raus and House Al'Thanz share a bitter rivalry, and frequently attempt to undermine one another. House Al'Drelia. House Al'Drelia, owned by the venerable Kiva Al'Drelia, is a favorite among the lower classes of the dominion, as Kiva herself grew her brewery empire from just a mere few copper coins her father gave her, or at least that's how the story goes. Her famous ales are widely available throughout numerous taverns and inns across Ragnarok. House Al'Drelia's ales are brewed throughout the year, and each season comes with a special flavor said to reflect the times of the season. There are rumors that Kiva dabbles in druidcraft to flavor her famous ales, and that her mother may have been a satyr.
