Behemoth's Back Mountains
Alongside the Koruna Hinterlands, the Behemoth's Back Mountains are the closest thing a clan-born mountain-folk can call home; after the Divine Civil War, during the first centuries following their banishment of demon-kind from the High Heavens, Lucifer's curse is said to have affected the exhiled forger arch-angels the worst of all. The pain they endured losing their mighty wings was said to sent them into uncontrolled rages, and so they exhilted themselves into the mountains until their transformation. Their howls of anger and agony echoed through these mountains, thus the range earned its name.
The Behemoth's Back mountains are the largest mountain-range in Ragnarok. It trails across the continent from its westernmost tip, near the Sintallian Forest, to the Ember-cage Cliffs in the north, all the way to its highest peak, Mount Patricia. Split into the shape of a 'Y', the mountain range divides the three dominions of Doubt, Indulgence, and Torment. The mountains are also said to split into several smaller ranges that branch out across the Shattered Shore, and can range anywhere from 10,000 to 20,000 ft above sea level.
Today, wandering tribes and clans of nomadic mountain-folk are common throughout the mountains, following thunderous, migratory herds of great white mammoths throughout the seasons from the north during the cold months, to the south in the warmer months. Mountain-folk are said to compete with not just groups of predatory yeti for food, but also the occasional young white dragons that prowl the tallest, most frigid peaks.
At its tallest series of peaks near the conjunction of all three arms of its range sits the great Seat of the Father, a monument to Great-Father Lucifer's last known sighting and the central place of government for the Triad Council.
