Mount Patricia

During the founding of the Dominion of Doubt, before the Rebirth, the mountain's snowy peaks served as demon-kind's only source of water for miles around. During an expedition to ascent the mountain to gather snow, an expectant demon mother went into labor as the Matron's Hand's came into alignment, blasting the mountain and piercing the Astral Filament with pure ley energy. The child born was imbued with fantastical astral power. She was named Patricia, and in the aftermath of the great miracles this child would weave later in life, the mountain was thus named after her. Mt. Patricia is the tallest peak in all of Ragnarok. At its tallest peak, the mountain reaches nearly 22,000-feet above sea level. Near its cloud-piercing peak, the temperature plunges to frigid, icy climates, and the cliffs and rock faces are blasted with snow. Yetis, goats, and young white dragons call the otherwise uninhabitable areas of the mountain home, but most dangerous creatures have been kept in check thanks to the heavy presence of the dominion; further down the mountain and built partway into the rock itself rests the city of Savant's Prospect, which makes use of the residual Magic from the mountain to power much of their automated infrastructure. While some progressive-minded magi might see the power the mountain holds as a chance to further their studies, more conservative individuals see tapping into the mountain's power as a risk not worth taking. Within the mountain is a network of subterranean, fractured caves suffused with astral power. Much of this power has brought life to otherwise inanimate elements over the centuries, and bestial earth elementals and other magical, subterranean beasts lurk far beneath the surface.
